Please drop Starc for the WIndies. We might yet find a strike bowler who actually bowls like a strike bowler in Australia.

Doesn't help that Starc is bowling pies here. Can't set a field to rank full tosses
Haze was pretty terrible too. Lyon at least wasn't bowling pies but wasn't looking dangerous either.

Cummins probably would've knocked them off but he can't bowl every over, lol.

It's why I'd at least like to see them use the 'we're resting him' excuse for an easy series. Be good to get someone else up and running. But they don't.

Yeah, if we don't rotate the bowlers we will lose to India again. At least if we're willing to give an out of rhythm bowler a fresher they will remain dangerous for the other Tests and maybe find someone who's genuinely excellent. Injuries in the 2021/22 Ashes worked there as we found someone who could take braces. But one bad series and he's not seen as a rotation option. Boland would never have relied on short stuff as much as the rest of the tail did once it stopped working.

It's very much a keeper-bat knock, this, and not something from a tailender.
I would've thought more of an aggressive all-rounder ala Stokes, but I can't remember the last time I've seen someone batting 9 bat like this.

for reasons that were put very well by i think it was @Spark india aren’t the same india that beat us here recently, in terms of both the personnel and the form, tbf, so i don’t think they will have the same tickets as they did last time on us and especially because we got them in the WTC

I mean....last time they toured here they finished with a literal A-team bowling attack (maybe even B-team) and still won lol

I'll grant the batting might be worse, but then the only Test Kohli played last time was the one India lost. Pant will be due back too.

Conspiracy theory: The Aussies are playing **** only because they don't want Warner to get out there in the last few overs of the day.
Warney century on the cards?

Our batting and arguably bowling will also be worse than last series. I hope we get some bouncier pitches though.

Pant is lucky to even be alive and he still tore all three ligaments in his knees. It'll be a miracle of he comes back as good as he was. Might even have to give up keeping.

Our bowling looks pretty pedestrian at times now too tbh. It's ok but not the force it was until last year.

I think he'd be in more trouble on a livelier pitch, but Jamal's play square of the wicket, especially the pull, has been really impressive this innings.
