9-13?

That must be the best FC figures for a fair amount of time (since Kumbles 10fer?)
Best bowling figures in NZ in 115 years!
Its the best in NZ first class cricket since AE Moss took 10-28 for Canterbury v Wellington at Christchurch in 1889-90.
The last 10 wicket bag in all first class cricket was DS Mohanty, 10-46 for East Zone v South Zone at Agartala in 2000-01.

Did anyone else see on Sky on Saturday when they advertised the state sheild matches they are televising. Last year they didn't show any Welington games and this year ND have missed out.. Auckland of course have three games

Great...Auckland being the worst OD side this season get 3 matches live.

N.D have been the other team that usually gets alot of coverage, but they seem to have missed out..which is a shame this time because they seem to be playing the most up & coming players this season.

Watling & Wilson are doing a fantastic job for N.D
they're currently 78/0 with Watling on 40* & Wilson on 35*.

Wilson is making a great start to his FC career, thats for sure.

I must have put the mockers on poor old Brad Wilson because he's out for 35.

Adams certainly could not bat above #9 in test cricket so that limits his chances.

If you look at the batting side of it, Canning probably is the front-runner because he has built up a reasonable FC record.

I'd be leaning towards selecting Canning..but he'd have to bowl pretty well because his bowling at best is slowish medium.

However, if Wilson goes back to the State Championship and scores a couple of fifties & continues to bowl well...Canning might be tough out of luck.
Would you really consider Canning as a Test option with the ball? I certainly wouldn't. He is a genuine medium-pacer, nothing more.

If Oram is definitely out of the Aussie Test series, I would play a bowling attack of Franklin, Martin, Wilson and Tuffey. McCullum could be promoted to 6, with Franklin, Wilson and Vettori batting at 7, 8 and 9 respectively. But without Oram in the team, the idea of only playing 5 specialist batsmen seems a little more uncertain

Yeah im not sure we should have Franklin, Wilson & Vettori holding up the middle to lower order against Australia.

We might need to play 6 specialist batsmen..McCullum at #7 then 4 specialist bowlers.

How can people seriously be considering Wilson for the test team?! Let him build some decent form with the ball in FC instead of rushing him in based on sporting reputation. I'd have Mills, Walmsley, or Adams in ahead of him at this stage.

Quite ridiculous considering Otago currently lead the table.
Matches to broadcast should not be decided before games are played. And make the Aucklanders go to watch the cricket live since they have the greatest population base.

And if Wilson is such a sensation then why did only 20,000 spectators turn up in Christchurch?

Walmsley? Seriously. No. His pace is dropping by the day, and is only bowling in the 120s now.

Wilson has snared 10 wickets in the SC at a good 24 a piece. He was also in outstanding bowling form last year as well.

It was 23,000. One of the biggest crowds for cricket at Jade for sometime apparently according to Waddle.

Probably because he never wore red and black. You know what Cantabrians are like.

I'm not saying I want Walmsley in the team. If you look at the stats, all of the following have taken more wickets at a better average than Wilson this year: Walmsley, Canning, Mills, Martin, and J McMillan (not including others already in the BCs). So why should Wilson be picked ahead of them when he's averaging less than 20 with the bat so far this season.

Other people love a glory boy, I prefer a proven performer.

Jade Stadium must hold over 40,000, and this is the BCs against a World XI (of sorts). And this is first ODI of the season there, nearly three months into the cricket season.

Nodds!!!! will be interesting to see whether he is picked after the World XI matches. I personally dont think he will but he has a place with regards to ratings to feature (not that i agree with that!)

It holds 36,000.

Canning will never be a Test bowler with his pace of 120-125.
