My tips for this weekend...

Cowboys to beat the Broncos, and the Storm to beat the Dogs...

Im still leaning well and truly toward a Rooster-Panthers GF again...

Although i wouldn't write off the other sides...

hmmm, Cowboys certainly to beat the Broncos. Brisbane have just hit a rut and I just see them getting out of it. They got tired too quickly against the Storm and the Storm ran wild. The first half will be tense with scores being close. However as the game drags on I can see the Cowboys running away with it, thus setting up a prelimenary final with the Roosters.

I reckon the Bulldogs will beat the Storm but its going to be closer than this match was last season. Bulldogs are bound to lift this week, but I think the Storm will also do the same. It was clinical display against the Broncos in the second half. If Scott Hill and Matt Orford do what they did last week, the Storm are a real chance. The way this season as played out I'd take Bulldogs, but with what has happened thus far in the playoffs you'd say Bulldogs. I'm behind by a bit in my picking comp, so I'll be taking Storm. They're a genuine chance imo, by god lets hope they are.

Cowboys - Broncos don't seem to be able to last the whole 80.
Storm - No Anasta, Price and a hurt Sherwin is enough for the Storm to win.

very very very very disapointing, that hurt more than previous seasons, losing to teams you are stronger than 2 weeks in a row is hard to take. only 1 try tonight, which myles was off side anyway, as bad as the referee was, we wont go there.

Great effort by the Cowboys to keep the Broncos scoreless...i too think Myles was offside but the Cowboys deserved to win. Should be another cracker tomorrow as well.

he was onside btw, the replays showed that.

end of an era with that result of that game. thanks for the memories gordon

We could argue about that all day. But with the benefit of the doubt rule, I think it was an OK desicion.
Agreed.

But I also think the fact taht the camera was at an angle where Myles was made to look more in front than he actually was. Even still I think he was in line with Matty Bowen's boot when it came in contact with the ball.

Great win by the Cowboys, with defence like that they can sure shake the roosters, although they will need to hold onto the ball more... Silly mistakes like tonight and the quality Roosters lineup will murder you....

the replays did not show that, i couldnt disagree with benefit of the doubt to the attacking team if that rule was actually enforced. sometimes they decide its a rule and sometimes its not. WHERES THE CONSISTENTCY?!?!

you know, when i was typing it i was particulary thinking of brisbane vs tigers when richards went over in the corner, tha could have been the perfect time to give benefit of the doubt to the attacking team, but the rule went MIA.
they just pick and chose where the rule is applicable, its just not acceptable...

It was always going to be tough on the Broncos heading into the finals with injuries to players in key positions. No specialist half-back, no specialist Hooker (although Ikin did a mighty job). And many of the other players were recently coming back from long term injuries. And however **** the ref was, the Cowboys were the better team on the night. I always say "if you knock the Broncos out, you'd better win the ****ing comp!"

Some positives for the Broncos was the performance of Toopu (sp?) and the performance of Carroll. If we can go injury free next season we will be a tough team to beat, just imagine:

1. Hunt
2. Topou
3. Tate
4. Berrigan
5. Hodges/Kelly/Minto
6. Lockyer
7. Seymour
8. Webke
9. Berrigan/Ryan
10. Civoneciva (sp)
11. Thorn
12. Carlaw
13. Carroll
14. Stagg
15. Parker
16. McGuire
17. any of the above, who don't fit the position.

Almost stronger than this year.

kelly, **** off kyle, get over him, time to admit, HES THE WORST PLAYER IN THE COMP!
Topou cant tackle or catch, carlaw is a cat, im so sick of his ****.

1 Hunt
2 Tate
3 Hodges
4 Berrigan
5 anyone who can catch and run and even make a tackle now and then - parfitt maybe
6 lockyer
7 seymour
8 webcke
9 Berrigan
10 Civoniceva
11 Thorn
12 Carroll
13 Costigan
reserves
14 Parker
15 McGuire
16 Thaiday
17 Stagg
18 Learoyd/Topou/Carlaw/Kelly/Ryan/everyone else

we need to start thinking more realistially here, if lockyer throws 1 more inside ball to civoniceva, thinking hes finich throwing it to minichello, ill scream! Im expecting big things from seymour next year, if not, im afraid we will bomb out again.

Bennett needs to give the young guys more game time, Learoyd, Thaiday etc.. didnt play enough for my liking. Learoyd is a freaking monster, if hes not an international in 3 years id be surprised, but they need game time!

I'd be very surprised if Tate is moved to the Wing, he has publicly announced he hates the position. As much as you are right about Kelly, he is playing out of position, he is a centre, and the times he has played in that position for the Broncos he has been Dynamic. Carlaw as you say is a cat, and shouldn't play, but Bennett is the coach and while he is Carlaw will stay there. I think it was a bad move by the Broncos to let Meyers go, he was hitting some super form towards the end of the season, could be missed next year.
