i for one am really happy that broncos are out. i'll be cheering them on against the roosters but i can't bring myself to pick them this week. bulldogs will probably beat the panthers too damit

i think we need hodges in the centres, while i think hes a complete moron, if we can get the best out of him he will be a fine player for us. So unless Berrigan is moved elsewhere Tate will start in on the wing im afraid. Im glad we got rid of meyers, the guy hasnt played a good game since he played for Australia, we have plenty of good young fowards coming through to replace him...

8 more players in the aus train on squad, no surprises for one the ones included, except for maybe Tonie Carroll, hes now eligible to play for Aus again. I though Hunt would get picked, for the storm only two players is a disapointing showing, Orford, Smith and King should consider themselves unlucky not to be there...

Broncos: Shaun Berrigan, Tonie Carroll, Petero Civoneciva, Darren Lockyer, Brent Tate, Shane Webcke.

Storm: Scott Hill, Billy Slater.

Disgraceful, Carroll is a KIWI we dont WANT HIM!!!

Orford MUST Be there, same with Smith... Glad Hunt isn't their... He should be playing for NZ....

NO, for 1 where would he play???

and 2, i want an international competition that is actually competitive for a change... So MAKE the kiwis play for NZ and not find some long distance relative that is 0.3% Australian.....

Hunt is good enough to be an aussie, hes lived in qld since he was 11 and as such hes a queenslander.

Which would mean he has still spent more time in NZ...

Honestly, i am sick and tired of Rugby League having no Top quality International games because all these players come to play for Australia...

If Hunt had the guts to play for NZ then they would have a team for the future... Benji, Sonny-Bill, Hunt, Halatau, Harrison, all these guys are quality young guns, and i can tell you that there are a couple more who are coming to the tigers next year...

I just want to finally see Top class international Rugby League..

well the same rules apply for state of origin, when u play ur first football after the age 13 (senior football)
so by that hes very much eligible to play for qld and australia....

carroll only played for NZ at the world cup and WC matches aren counted as full internationals, so that means hes never represented NZ in a test match, again hes very much eliigible to play for Aus.

I agree with Blewy here...i would mutch rather see Carroll and Hunt running around for the Kiwis then not playing as part of the Aussie squad. but in the end its their right to pick, and its always better to back a good thing. Also, there was an article in one of the papers a while back that explained how Morley could be playing for NSW/Australia instead of England due to him becomeing an Aussie resident, which would just about kill off internetional league for me all together.

On a positive note it was great to see Marcus Peranara(sp?) selected in the kiwi train on squad...maybe he could be that half we eels fans have been waiting for :D

Did you really expect to see Hunt picked when Bennett is the Australian coach? For once I am on Bennett's side, Hunt was dynamic for most of the season, however after playing all of Brisbane's games this season, he did not have that magic that he had before towards the end of the season and was making mistakes most under 10 fullbacks wouldn't make.

You have to remember he is 17 and playing in a top quality side that demands perfection. When I was 17, I had hard enough time getting away from the t.v. let a long an international rugby league series.

i thought hunt would get picked, IMO after minichello and slater hes our best fullback, slater is likely to miss the tour through injury and due to a lack of wingers mini could easily be on one wing. Even if Hunt didnt play a test, theres no harm taking him away for the experience, because theres no denying hes going to play rep football in the future...

Of course there is no denying he'll play rep footy in the future, so why rush it? Behind Minichello & Slater is also Bowen & Wesser. And although I don't really rate those two, they are only coming up against International sides, not NRL sides.

wesser is rubbish, not in the class of the other guys, bowen is a dynamic player, i dont see him as an 80 minute fullback, u start him there, then bring him in closer as the game wares on, hes a league version of a rover i feel....
