*Official* New Zealand vs Pakistan 2022/23

there was some post on reddit cricket about how godawful the ticketing and viewing experience in the recent Karachi test was, it was more than just the cost
Ultimately , I don't think the younger generation are in love with Test cricket anymore , its not just in Pakistan most countries are experiencing similar attendance records for Test matches ...thats why Pakistan vs India Test matches need to happen again

Excellent runs these, though the ease with which they're doing it suggests that the little that was in the pitch yesterday has died out - scoreboard pressure very much a thing though, especially when it's the last partnership

I seem to remember that there were loads of security hoops to jump through during the England matches. I guess having burly soldiers pat you down and going through scanners isn’t much fun. Plus, COVID is still rampant.

Also, each of these tests started on a Monday which is pretty silly you feel unless it's boxing day at the MCG

Could get tough on days 4 and 5 with all the footmarks getting created and some turn on offer. In which case these runs are all the more important.

If anyone is interested, the highest 10th wicket partnership for New Zealand is 151 by Brian Hastings and Richard Collinge vs Pakistan @ Auckland , 16th February 1973 ...

Yeah while it's lots and lots of fun seeing Henry and Ajaz comfortably bat Pakistan bowling around here, does reinforce this is a roady mcroad right now and should be until the end of day 3 at least. Going to be very hard for us to take wickets.

Apart from Sodhi of course, he will feed at will.

While Southee's batting is a lost cause, someone like Jamieson should really be taking note of how you can make lower order runs without resorting to blind slogging.
KJ knows this tbf. People get him out bowling the Guptill length and he falls into the same trap imo.

****ing hell this partnership has just gone past the 84 run stand for the 10th wicket, that Tim Southee and Chris Martin put on in 2008 against England in Napier on the all time list , now that must have been really frustrating having Chris Martin out on the field for that long !?
