Abdullah is going to get dropped soon isn't he so he can join Ahmed Shehzad and Abid Ali as Pakistani openers (with names starting with A) who have very good averages but short careers, so those of us not in the know wonder what happened and why they didn't play more...

Henry to Abdullah Shafique, OUT
Oh dear, Abdullah Shafique. Was out stumped trying to be aggressive in the first Test's first innings. Now out trying to pull a 141kph bowler and hitting it to the only outfielder on the leg side. Went for the pull, couldn't keep it down, and Shafique is down after a brisk 19. Henry-Ajaz combine, familiar sight today.
I was about to come into this thread out of lurk mode to predict his imminent dismissal.
The four he crisply drove off Southee past mid off was too forced with his hands and he seemed to be keen to make things happen. It wasn't going to be his day, Unfortunately did not get to make my crystal ball projection as he got out before I could post it.

Btw. You guys earlier talking about Ajaz batting as high as 7 or 8 for CD, I reckon you're dreaming. If you are talking Plunket Shield.
However I do recall once him batting high for CD in a televised T20, a match up v a left arm spinner probably, at one of those puny CD grounds.

Had he got 8 more runs he would have gotten to 1000 test runs faster than Javed Miandad in terms of innings . Needs to go back to his normal style of play of building big innings. Too many rash shots lately.
He consistently bats 8 in Super Smash and does it occasionally in Plunket Shield too
