Fun fact: selectively ignoring the Ferguson test, current Southee (ignoring his early career goodness) is the worst batter of all NZ test cricketers since Chris Martin

Hasn't Ajaz been batting at number 7 (maybe even 6?) a bit this season for CD? But he's at number 11 here. Obviously Southee's batting is a meme and gets brought up a bit here but it really is a bit ridiculous that he's at 9 above these two.

Yeah I'm not convinced this is a road really. Think NZ have a pretty much par score. Median first innings score in Pakistan when choosing to bat first this century is 357.

Ajaz must've had nose bleeds at 7, he's OK technically but can't play short pitched bowling. And yeah, egos are a thing with cricketers. Southee should've been 10 or 11 for the past 10 years of his career, but no one ever had the balls to do it.

8 iirc. #7 rings a little bell, but that was probably due to injury. Dougeh normally does that job. But yeah definitely should be batting higher for NZ, esp. in Asia

On reflection, maybe that was last season. Randell has been very good with bat this season. Still better than Southee.

I don't think Ajaz has been that high but he's gone from bunny to sometimes cameo maker for Central.

CD have like 17535 bowlers who can bat so if he batted 7 that's hilarious.

Abrar is gold dust. Only going to get better. Your young leggie going for runs on an off day isn't something to be concerned about. As exciting a prospect as there can be.

NZ have too many already.

Well more importantly Ajaz saved a test in India with the solidest defence you'll ever see. Legend. He also did something in the other test that series ftr

I thought it was 8, but could be wrong.
