*Official* New Zealand vs Pakistan 2022/23

Yuss Macewell! Was just about to say he'll bowl much worse in the future and still end up with wickets. That was richly deserved. Kept Babar honest right through this innings.

Unbelievable spell from Bracewell 1/29 off his 10 overs. Unlucky not to get more wickets, completely beat Babar but gets rewarded with a snick through
slips for four.

Should get a slip in to Mir from both ends. There have been a fair few edges through there.

Babar might decide to change gears now. Running out of support.

Well done Southee on getting the short ball on target.

Tommy Latham with the great stumping all but wraps it up. It's been a tremendous all round performance in the field from the Black caps.
Can't recall a parallel for NZ where all their spinners have worked so well in tandem, and there it is, Ish wraps it up for a big win.

Great win alright, read the pitch to perfection and the spinners applied the choke.

Guess this makes the toss for the decider rather important.

There's been a few positives on this tour, as cynical as we can get, right? Sodhi's re-emergence as a Test bowler, Kane rediscovering runs, Conway finding the best spot for him in our team, Bracewell in ODIs, Tom Latham's Test form, Tom Blundell as well, picking the Ship etc. It's been a fun tour. And hell, it wouldn't be happening in wet as **** old NZ, so it's well timed, too.

Tomorrow morning when the kiwis who went to sleep at 180-2 check the score:

.
Saw this when checked the score in the night - 183/2 at 30 overs (wickets in hand so double the score = 366) and we scored a miserable 78/8 off the last 20 overs. Thankful for Santner in the end or it would have been even worse.

Thought another 6 wicket win for Pakistan was guaranteed. But then trundler made this post:
Nice! If NZ are restricted to 280ish, it should be a comfortable chase for Pak

Can't believe Santner bowled Rizwan like that  . Has he ever turned/straightened a ball that much before?

Also loved Phillips celebrations after his wicket and his runout. So rare for one of our fielders to score the direct hit nowadays too.

Do have to note Macewell's ODI/T20 bowling continues to surprise. Teams Pakistan really unable to get him away - good variations, mix of angles and flight.

we almost won that hopkins test series in india.

hopkins, t mac, bennett, BFJ opening the bowling because bennett died, brent arnel...they used a video game cheat code twice and took until the third test to finally scrape past us.

farrrk we played well in that series. harbhajan singh truly is the worst human alive. at least he did come back to our country through our airport to get smoked for 4 by marto like the bitch **** he is.
In the first test, where India were reduced to 15/5 and then Harbhajan got 100, both Bennett AND Ryder went down so we actually opened the bowling with Martin + spin. Attack was basically Martin, Vettori and Patel and Williamson, McCullum and Taylor all bowled. In retrospect it’s hardly surprising Harbhajan tonned up.

Also Harbhajan never toured NZ after this (still a good story though)
