At this stage, NZ has to be the favourites. Agreed, ODIs are a different ball game altogether, but this squad will feel the demoralising effects of the test whitewash. If the pitches are even half as venomous as the ones for the tests, NZ will coast to a series win.
The plus points for India are the inclusion of youth in the form of Kaif and Yuvraj and the inclusion of the experienced Srinath in the team. On the flip side, AA comes back into the team yet again!!! and Kumble instead of Karthik is a bad choice. The selectors are giving Karthik a real raw deal. Yohannan's spells in the 2nd test lacked bite maybe and he took just one wicket, but he bowled his overs economically which in a low scoring game counts for a lot. He has also been treated shabbily by the selectors. I have no idea about Rakesh Patel, so no comments on him.
