*Official* New Zealand vs India Tests & ODIs

At this stage, NZ has to be the favourites. Agreed, ODIs are a different ball game altogether, but this squad will feel the demoralising effects of the test whitewash. If the pitches are even half as venomous as the ones for the tests, NZ will coast to a series win.

The plus points for India are the inclusion of youth in the form of Kaif and Yuvraj and the inclusion of the experienced Srinath in the team. On the flip side, AA comes back into the team yet again!!! and Kumble instead of Karthik is a bad choice. The selectors are giving Karthik a real raw deal. Yohannan's spells in the 2nd test lacked bite maybe and he took just one wicket, but he bowled his overs economically which in a low scoring game counts for a lot. He has also been treated shabbily by the selectors. I have no idea about Rakesh Patel, so no comments on him.

Yeah. I think NZ have the edge here, clearly becuase of the Test mathces. Indian batsmen are likely to be fretting about the pitches now and thats a big plus for NZ. Kumble Indeed should not be in the team based on recent performances, Kartik definitely deserves a spot.

Also I dont think Youhannan has done a lot to prove his worth.

I think India will take the series 5-2. Without Cairns/Harris and Adams we'll really struggle.

I might have to change that tomorrow though as it's forcast for thunder storms in Auckland I notice :(

Kartik has been treated very badly by the selectors, he has all the reasons 2 be upset!
Well 5-2 to India would be fantastic, but i don't think things will go all that well for India.I think it will be a close series!

These guys aren't out for the whole 7 match series though. I think the series will be very close.. India will probably win the series though. Their batting lineup is all class

On the selection of the NZ Team-I have a few problems with it. No Styris is a big call.. With out top allrounders in Cairns, Adams and Harris out, I would have said the Styris should be there.

I don't really think that Mills should be there. I rate other bowlers along way ahead of him. Also I don't see how Matt Sinclair got into the team ahead of Mike Papps. This guy is an awesome player and has the runs beside his name.. What more does he have to do

NO Sachin , Bangar and Harbhajan for the first match. Now NZ have a big advantage. I think the 11 would be

Sehwag
Ganguly
Laxman
Dravid
Kaif
Yuvraj
Agarkar
Srinath
Nehra
Zaheer
Kumble.

No other batsman is available also. So India has to have a good start to the batting if they want to have any chance.

I'm going to stick my neck out here and say 200 all out at best for the Indians.

With a batting lineup like that, it seems fragile at best. If (as is likely if pitches and weather continue as they have been) early wickets go down, the middle order is inexperienced and/or not fast scorers. Then there's a big tail.

The bowling, with the exception of Zaheer, doesn't seem too scary from the NZ batsmen's point of view. I can see Matt Sinclair getting a truckload over the course of this Series.

India might lose the first oneday , now that they are deprived of Tendulkar,Bangar and Bhajji.
However i still think India will manage more than 200, unless the wicket is as awful as were in the test series.

The final 11 would be ,

Gang
Sehwag
Dravid
Laxman
Yuvraj
Kaif
Patel(wk)
Ajit
Nath
Khan
Kumble.

Pitch looks like a good batting track. It is a drop in pitch. Groundsman says pleanty of runs but good bounce for the quicks.

Its funny in that Kiwi fans thinks that India will win the Oneday series but English fans are cetain that India will lose the series rather badly:saint:

I think the conditions will be the major problem for them. That, and the fact they're on a bit of a low facing some players with points to prove following the contract dispute.
