Well getting back to the topic , its an relieving thing that Zaheer Khan has performed well coming back from injury but as for the batting i really dont know what to say ? ganguly whos playing like a **** load of matches and cant perform means ...? he should be stripped of captaincy most people call him a good captain and all , but i dont see any sign of it yet , he doesnt seem to have any great fielding changes , any great bowling changes , he made the mistake of bowling agarkar even though he was getting punished , and i think that his captaincy is troubling his batting a lot

As for VVS Laxman i said always and said before this guy cant really bat outside India , Bring in Das who seems to have performed well in England now he will be used to the pitches there ! and bring out Agarkar for Yohannan although i doubt that change will be a good one ? then again who knows Yohannan is a pure bred from the Academy and is action etc are just like the West Indian bowlers

Well for New Zealand they shouldnt really make any changes , i reckon we ( nz ) should just flirt around with the batting order , and the good news CAIRNS is coming back , another mental blow for India ! but who goes out for him ?

Styris probably, he didn't get as many Wickets as Oram even though both scored sod all...

IMO, there is no need for any knee-jerk reactions as far as the composition of the Indian team is concerned...except maybe for AA and Nehra. One of those two should be replaced by Yohanan. If only there was another option in the 15 member team, I would have preferred both of those gone from the playing 11.

As for the batting lineup, there's no point in saying that we have two makeshift openers. They are the openers of choice, not like two main openers are out there lying on a bed all plastered in the hospital recuperating, while these two just make do.They are the ones who have been given the responsibility to take on the new ball and they should be given the chance to redeem themselves...and that applies to not only the openers, but the whole batting lineup.

Sehwag should adapt to the conditions.Yes he likes to play his shots, but here he needs to apply his technique(which is excellent in my opinion) to play out the initial overs when the cherry is hot.He needs to rein himself and not take the bait. That's what is the problem with the whole damn batting lineup....they just don't realize that its not gonna be a dust bowl like Kanpur all over the world ...... Jeez!! :(!

Styris's effort with the bat was rather lame really, coming down the pitch to block which gave an easy stumping chance to Patel.

Oram was unlucky however, his lbw was not the best..but anyway they should do better next time around.

Sehwag is not ideal as an opener in Test matches.I think Das should have been given another chance, Sehwag is primarily a middleorder batsman who is being asked to open because of shortage of quality openers in India.I would like to see Bangar and Das open in the next test match.

Ajit as i have been saying shouldn't have been part of 16 man test squad.Tinu should come in his place .Though people are asking for Laxman's head, but i still think he's a good batsman, if he is all to be replaced then he should be replaced by Kaif, who i believe will succeed at test level!

Maybe Yohannan will come in for Nehra and Das for Laxman. I read in an article that Yohannan really troubled Ganguly and Laxman in the nets and that Wright was impressed. I hope WarriorYohannan is not seeing this :(:(;):). I thought he would be picked based on his performances.

I see that the Hamilton pitch is expected to be faster & bouncier than The Basin if they can get clear weather....otherwise they are expecting it to be a bit slower than Wellington.

If the weather stays clear then the Indian batting lineup will really be tested by the NZ seam attack!!!

Predictably NZ have named the same Squad - understandable but I still don't like 2 'new' all rounders in the batting line up, & I don't understand why they would want 5 bowlers in the 11 (I still think of Styris as a bowler who bats, & Oram was selected for his bowling rather than his batting)?????

I don't know that any changes India may make will drastically improve the team performance - I think their problem is ingrained into their playing style. Mind you I have already said that I think AA should go, & Laxman should be replaced by Sehwag to make way for a 'tighter' opener.

;)

Yet he looked totally at sea to the short pitched delivery when I've seen him so I wouldn't call it excellent.

Interestingly the next match is suppose to take place on a pitch that is suppose to be more faster than the previous one!!!
Would be interesting to see how Indian batsmen plays in the second test match, hopefully they will bat second.

Will be looking forward to Tendulkar for a good score, he's been dormant for quite a while now.

So when does it start ?

Oh dear things are not looking too favourable for India in Hamilton tomorrow....

Just read that the weather was not kind & so they have another green top to play on again - more of the same from the pitch as was experienced in Wellington it seems - plenty of bounce & sideways seam movement!!!!!!!

It is meant to rain tommorow, but apparently will get better as the week goes on, so i still think there will be a result in this final test.

What is Kumble doing in the ODI team? He's looked useless in the last few months in all forms of cricket.
