Tuffey's out - Hamilton in. Cumming replaces the injured (unconscious) Papps.cric_manic said:i have been calling for Hamilton's selection for a long time now, mabye my wish will come true

The Cumming selection was a little surprising but if you think about it, without Styris there aren't too many other alternatives. Tama Canning is an option I suppose, after all he was called up after Harris' shoulder injury and would be another bowling option too but he seems out of favour at the moment.Voltman said:Tuffey's out - Hamilton in. I guess Richard Rash will be more than a little surprised to see Cumming in there.
I think it was more indicative of McCullum's surprise and then anger at receiving a full toss. You'll get the same reaction from anyone when they get a ball like that from any bowler.Fiery said:They've been exposed to him on and off the field. McCullum's reaction was enough to suggest it was something they had been wary of from him
I certainly don't blame McCullum for being angry. That delivery had the potential to badly injury him and he had every right to voice his concerns.Son Of Coco said:I think it was more indicative of McCullum's surprise and then anger at receiving a full toss. The ball definetly made contact with the ground IMO but it didn't matter in the context of the game and I wasn't really upset with the decision at all because even though it touched the ground he still had control of the ball.age_master said:if he wasn't in total control of it it would have opped out when he hit the ground wouldn't it?
I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. Maybe McGrath will come in for Lee and then either Hogg/Kasprowicz/Gillespie is rested for the final ODI for Hopes - that's my prediction anyway.JASON said:My guess is Lee would be side lined for the next 2 ODI s on account of the bad blood he appears to have created with the unfortunate Beamer , and selectors would play James Hopes in his place .
How do you know Hussey would have known he didn't catch it? How do you know Lee deliberately bowled it at McCullum? To me these comments sound a little bitter in account of the result of the game.Fiery said:If you didn't see them then you're not really in any position to comment.
1) The Hussey catch was not out and claimed by the fielder in typical Australian fashion when he would have known it and
2) Brett Lee bowled a deliberate "waist-high full toss" which is a beamer in my book with the intention of hitting the batsman.
News » News: Cricketer killed by a beamer

A cricketer who was batting without a helmet was killed when he was struck on the head as he tried to hook a ”beamer”, an inquest heard on Tuesday.
Flt. Sgt. Jonathon Willis, 39, of the Royal Air Force, who was wearing a cap, collapsed at the wicket after the ball struck him behind his right ear.
He had been opening the batting for RAF Lyneham in a midweek cup fixture at St Erme, near Truro, Cornwall against the local RAF base, St Mawgan.
Flying Officer Scott Weir, a pace bowler, who was in the same team as Flt Sgt Willis a season earlier, was playing his second game of the season after serving in Afghanistan.
He told the inquest in Truro that the conditions had been hot and his hands were sweaty.
The ball slipped out of his hand and became a beamer — a fast ball that reaches the batsman at head height — hitting Flt Sgt Willis without bouncing on the wicket.

You weren't, I was backing you up mate!Son Of Coco said:I don't think I was indicating he didn't...
Yep, I absolutely agree with those ten, it's the 11th player that's a problem. At the moment, it appears as though Mills and Tuffey are competing for it, but I can't say those are the most promising bowlers in the country.Blaze said:Astle

That is a strong 10 that could challenge AUS.. We really need another quality fast bowler though. I hope Sherlock or Davis or even Butler come through eventually

He's got the Kiwis intimidated and he'll be the first bowler chosen.
To the extent that he concussed one and almost badly injured another with an illegal delivery...if that's not bad blood, tell me what is.social said:What bad blood?
