I certainly don't think that was intentional, but it was certainly dangerous and a man at his pace could cause some serious injuries if accidents like those occur frequently.
Yeah, and if he had bowled another he would have been told to leave the attack by the umpire. That's why the rule is in place.

Absolutely agree. The reality is that Bond was never going to be fit, but the injuries to Oram and Styris have to be put down to bad luck.

On a sidenote, does anyone know what's happened with Michael Papps? We didn't receive any information as to whether he would bat again after he retired hurt so I'm interested to know if he's alright.
He can't have been too flash because he didn't bat again. No word as to how he is now though.

was I wrong in detecting a foot fault no ball off the Fleming wicket?
I'd say you were yes. Ian Smith asked about it and they showed a replay, and at least an inch or so of Lee's foot was clearly behind the line. Not even very close to a no-ball.

When the Marshalls were batting together they played the song "He ain't heavy, he's my brother". That was lame.

Lol. Bizarre way to start your international career though, being run out by your brother on your debut. Hard luck for James.

:D Quite funny though. I like a bit of corny humour now and then

Just speaking the truth mate. ;)
You were at the ground though Somerset. On TV, with the benefit of the replay it was quite obvious the Hussey catch was not a catch and that Lee bowled a beamer to McCullum not to mention a plumb lb from Vettori on Clarke but apart from that the Aussies outplayed us.
Shame that all the dubious calls have gone with the Aussies every time this year

I remember the Clarke LBW, was shocked when I saw that replay...at least Alem Dar made correct decisions to give Martyn and Katich out.

I'll try and catch another replay on Hussey's dismissal of Cairns and comment more then.

Yeah he loves to give away no balls 8-) ... we're talking about Lee here, not tuffey :D
LOL! You were so close to making a funny joke, but should I remind you of the Sydney test against India? Brett Lee's noballs :D How many wickets did he get on no balls?

I get your point though. Lee didn't intentionally bowl a beamer today, but I believe he did to Razzaq. Do I have proof? No. But I'm entitled to my opinion. :)

How many can we give him the benefit of the doubt on now though?
I think he gets a rush of blood to the head sometimes which is a bit unfortunate. Unless he can claim the ball slipped out of his hand he's got no excuse really but that's OK he'll probably get a fair share of them himself from now on and have to deal with the "Brett Lee's a wanka" chants whereever he goes so good luck to him I guess :)

That doesn't make sense though because I'm not a nice guy
Yes you are Fiery, all that huffing and puffing out your chest dosent fool anybody. I bet you are the type of guy that would go all weak at the knees and ask Lee for his autograph if you came face to face with him while you told him how much you like him. I even bet you do the ironing when your wife tells you without a whimper.

I don't have a wife yet Smellyrag but I will in about 6 months and she knows she'll see the the back of my hand if she ever asked me to do the ironing.
How's your love life?

Richard Jones? No, I don't think so. Papps maybe. I don't think we need to panic with selections. Aussie are too good for us, that's all. They've played better cricket in this series. It pains me to admit that.
Papps is injured, while Jones has been in form in the domestic championship going on now. But three dismissals in a row for next-to-nothing suggest things are very wrong at the top of the order, and clips of every one of those innings show that Fleming is not a genuine opener, which the team needs more than ever. There's no harm in trying something new here- it could be a surprise element in the series, and at this stage, it is due.
