u zip it skidmark00. You guys are so good you shouldn't have to resort to beamers.
What a funny joke..... 8-) .... youre like 30 somehting, but you act like a 12 year old...

People who think that Lee's full toss tonight (or Razaaqs for that matter) was intentional really are clutching at straws.

Good to see the Auckland crowd have put Lee in the same bracket as Hadlee. :D
Those 2 guys shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath.
agemaster, your comment that Brett Lee is not the type of guy who would bowl a beamer like he's some sort of  is laughable

I am 30 something and have seen enough cricket and enough of Brett Lee to know that they were. So were Razzaq's.

Should Fleming open another ODI innings? That last chip onto the stumps prove he's no opener, as he's been castled by Lee for the third time in a row. Maybe Richard Jones or another in-form domestic opener may get a call-up, while Fleming can come in at 3.

Richard Jones? No, I don't think so. Papps maybe. I don't think we need to panic with selections. Aussie are too good for us, that's all. They've played better cricket in this series. It pains me to admit that.

Well that was a bit disappointing. The crowd was really awesome though, about 30,000. Brett Lee was fielding quite close to where I was sitting, he did not get a good reception from the crowd. Tuffey's first over was a nightmare, the rest of the 1st innings was pretty good from a NZ supporter's point of view (although once again it is proven that Mills should finish bowling his 10 before the 40th over, he went for just 27 in his first 7 and his last 2 went for 30).

I was pretty confident of NZ going close when the Marshalls were together but for me we lost all chance of victory when Hamish got out. James Marshall showed plenty of ability, hope we see a lot more of him in ODIs.

Overall I think we could have played much better and if we had we would have got within 30, but Australia are just too good. Hope to see a few changes in the NZ team for the dead rubbers.

was I wrong in detecting a foot fault no ball off the Fleming wicket?
No you weren't and while I'm trying to make excuses, what about the Hussey catch off Cairns? Scraped along the ground for about a metre and he would have known it. Why Cairns didn't stand his ground like Chappell did when Snedden took that catch and why they didn't go upstairs is beyond me.

Keep clutching mate... The hussey catch was clearly a catch, the ball is allowed to touch the ground, as long as you have it controled in your hand!.... keep clutching boys...

Stop comparing your team to the Aussies, its just going to end in heartbreak.

I had to adjudicate one where the guy at mid off fumbled, caught it at the just as it hit the ground, so I called not out, they thought it was a fair catch.

No, its allowed to touch the ground if you've made the catch and have had obvious control of the ball for a few seconds at least,e.g, pushing on it to get back to your feet. The only reason it was in his hand is because the ball hit his hand and the ground at the same time then scaped along the ground.

The crowd really got stuck into Lee, "Lee is a ....." echoing around the ground was classic. Shame he was so pumped up and forcing Papps to retire hurt was disappointing. After the full toss to McCullum, I was certain Ponting was set to take Lee off so was fairly surprised when he continued.

But as Ed mentioned, great crowd and getting into the ground was a nightmare! I missed the first three overs, was expecting to miss more actually, and from what I've heard about Tuffey, maybe that was a stroke of luck.

With Australia 5/128 I felt we had a great chance but again Australia showed their depth and class, Clarke and Hussey pulling them out of trouble. And as usual, Vettori was superb, it's a shame he can't bowl more than his allowable ten.

He seemed to have control of the ball and there wasn't too much of an argument from Cairns because Hussey seemed so confident. I have to admit, I had little doubt that the catch was fair.

I certainly don't think that was intentional, but it was certainly dangerous and a man at his pace could cause some serious injuries if accidents like those occur frequently.

So is that "little doubt" or "a little doubt" Somerset?

i didn't say that, just not the sort of bloke who would go round deliberatley bowling beamers

Shane Bond Scott Styris and Jacob Oram. Then you have a good even series..
Absolutely agree. The reality is that Bond was never going to be fit, but the injuries to Oram and Styris have to be put down to bad luck.

On a sidenote, does anyone know what's happened with Michael Papps? We didn't receive any information as to whether he would bat again after he retired hurt so I'm interested to know if he's alright.

What makes you think he's not? And do you honestly believe the one to Razzaq wasn't?
(and I only single out that one because it's the most obvious)

Little doubt, I thought the catch was taken very well, just good cricket from the Australians. I haven't been able to see many replays though, just keep that in mind.
