And this series he has taken no wickets at no runs because he is not in the team. The rest is just speculation. I agree Kaspa has not been at his absolute best (don't forget Ponting dropped Astle early in his spell today), but neither has Gillespie, yet we are still on track to win the test series 2-0 with the second washed out.
Yes, we were speculating. I can't see why anybody who watched the ODI series and saw the way the New Zealanders handled Lee would think hé would do as badly as Kasprowicz has done in this series. There is no evidence whatsoever to suggest it.

Now that the Australian bowling for the series is done, here are the final stats:

McGrath - 19 @ 14.37
Gillespie - 7 @ 45.71
Kasprowicz - 8 @ 39.88
Warne - 17 @ 22.06
Clarke - 2 @ 12.00

It's pretty obvious that two bowlers had great series and two were poor. Both Kasprowicz and Gillespie were consistently average throughout the series aside from one good innings each. I don't think there's any reason to believe Lee would have been so average. The only justification for keeping him out at the start of the series was that it was believed Kasprowicz would do well and assist Australia well enough, so changing the side was unwarranted.

On another note, does McGrath just keep getting better and better or what? An amazing series considering all the wickets with the possible exception of the second innings in the third test were dead flat by the time Australia bowled. The second test pitch did a fair bit on day one, but nothing after that.

Anyway, 164 should be an interesting chase. It's quite gettable if they get off to a decent start, but Australia don't have the best history with this sort of thing. If Martin and Franklin start well and get some movement, anything is possible since Wiseman and Vettori should definately be tough to play.

Lee should play the first Ashes test in place of Kasperwicz. I feel that Dizzy will quickly bounce back and he should have a good tour against England. Personally i think england might be scared of lee.

Fantastic couple of leaves from Martin, great boundary, even the comentators were impressed with his new technique!

A few good shots from Wiseman were also nice to see, he's always been a decent batsmen, here's hoping that success will rub off on his batting.

Kasprowicz has plenty of experience of playing county cricket in England however, that'll certainly help his cause, but I can't help feeling that the practice matches leading up to the Ashes will be a big factor in which bowler misses out.

Nope, no idea mate. Her location says Lower Hutt, close to the Wellington region, so I'm a fair way from there.

A few balls played and missed already though, so we're creating some opportunities. But I tend to agree, runs are coming a little too easily at the moment.
