On your bike Sarfaraz, he isn't chirping now.

Good bowling from Ajaz and a good catch from Blundell albeit it with a fumble.

Yeah I might be being unfair. But he's looked thoroughly lost as soon as the ball has done anything
Yeah but given confidence is half the battle against spin, I’m willing to give him some rope. Suspect it’s not the most happy dressing room right now and shifting him up and down the order is a bit dire.

Mate... I am just pointing out how better catching can change the entire complexion of the game. None of those were even half chances. They were just bad fielding and catching.
Of course they do. It's just, I don't know, strange to insist that actually the real problem is this one thing and everything else is periphery

God pls no. Not Rahul again. Either back sarfaraz a bit more or play Jurel
He has looked the worst batter in the team outside of Rohit. He will be a sitting duck in Australia, providing catching practice in the slips. Let's hope they can add Sai Sudarshan to the squad. He just turned 23 and got a ton against Aus A, worth giving a go.

I am fine with him batting anywhere between 5-8, tbh. The first test was the silly thing when it should have always been Rahul batting 3 or 4.

We now have the strange situation where it feels like we're getting through them and yet Washington has only just come out to bat and there's still Ashwin to come too

India bat deep and they have Deep at no.11,.

Our bowlers still have some work to do here.

It is the most controllable, for starters.
Yes absolutely. Drives me insane the way we've fielded today for instance.

I think it just reminds me of a lot of the stuff we've done as NZ fans on various tours over the years - to India and elsewhere - where we've kinda clung to missed chances as the thing that cost us a game - when in reality we were just second best by a distance over the whole test

Difficult sharp chances are always easy to forgive, it's the dollys we drop that make you want to pull hair. Shubman punishing us now.

May as well make the stumps 2mm narrower then lol. Hitting is hitting
I think people have gotten a bit overly ideological about lbws in this way.

Lbw laws were introduced to stop batsmen basically "hacking" the game in a negative way. They've also evolved in that fashion.

It's not meant to be an overly common dismissal integral to the game. Lbw was basically a patch - it exists only to change incentives and bring the more interesting dismissals of bowled and caught into play more.

DRS has shown us that a lot more batsmen were technically out lbw than were given before that. That's fine but given what the purpose of lbw laws actually are, maybe we should change them to restore balance. It's not like Tests are too bat-dominant now to consider it either...

Meh, they’ve evolved and become integral to the game now for a long time. What happened more than a century ago is irrelevant at this point.
