wish we had axar at 9 lol
That's fair enough - we obviously caught as well as we could have, minus Blundell that didn't cost too much.Rohit dropped 2, Rahul dropped 1, Pant dropped 1 and then missed a stumping. 5 chances. We take those, you are probably 150/8 than 180/3 at the end of day 1.
NZ played brilliantly and I am only speaking from an Indian PoV here. But they did offer those chances and we could not take them. And they ran us ragged instead.
Interestingly enough, seems NZ were gonna bat first too had they won the toss. That's fair enough - we obviously caught as well as we could have, minus Blundell that didn't cost too much.
If we don't win this one with the outrageous advantages we've had with losing the toss and it doing everything, outstanding catching and India not catching well, we may as well never play another game over there
Would have been really interesting to see how that would have gone. India only have two frontline pacers and I don't know if bumrah and siraj are as suited to exploiting the bounce and 25 overs of seam movement we saw on day 1, those two have actually been pretty poor with the new ball recently at home and made up for it with the old, reversing ball. Batting actually got marginally easier after twenty five overs, the issue was that at that point siraj and kuldeep where batting. Given how india fielded on day three I also don't know if they would have held onto all the chances NZ did.Interestingly enough, seems NZ were gonna bat first too had they won the toss.
291 runs , Australia overcame that deficit to beat Sri Lanka in Colombo 1992 and the second biggest is the famous Eden Gardens 2001 test where India beat Australia after 274 run deficitWhat's the biggest first innings deficit ever for a team who's gone on to win?
Bloke has scored half his runs behind point on the offside yet they've - and especially O'Rourke - decided the best plan is to bang it in short and wide. BizarreI’m not in agreement with this plan of attack from the Kiwi bowlers against Sarfaraz.
Bowlers, please bowl your best balls. Let him make the mistake.

Especially first thing in the morning when there's been rain around all week - if it's going to do anything off the seam it will be early on, so why not attack the top of off stump to start with?I’m not in agreement with this plan of attack from the Kiwi bowlers against Sarfaraz.
