The last thing we need is to turn into one of those "at least we batted out the overs" sides. Keep with the ****ing rate of get out trying, we're supposed to be decent at this limited overs stuff.
Exactly what I'm getting at. I'd rather see us go down swinging than see 250-7 off 50 overs. If we win 1 of those 5 games going hell for leather, great. The public deserves to see them give it a red-hot go, in my opinion. The last thing we need is to turn into one of those "at least we batted out the overs" sides. I had the same thought. He was definitely playing for his ton and not caring about the team situation.Am I the only person who though that Samuels played a selfish innings post 80, and cost us a chance to really post a good score. Playing for your hundred at that point in the innings is not acceptable. If not for Sammy (cant believe I said that) we would have been struggling.
Yep. And Michael Beer.Xavier Doherty
Haha, would play Chris Martin in that case, reckon he's the guy most likely to cause issues to Gayle, swinging the ball away from his hitting arc.Bracewell would be the most likely to dismiss him at the moment. I remember a ball that O'Brien got Gayle out with in Napier, in the Test in 2010 or so - it was a snorter that lifted and took his edge. I don't see a pitched-up ball swinging or not, as Boult bowls, causing any issues.
Can anyone recall in any form of cricket, a bowler being picked to negate a certain batsman? If Gayle wasn't playing, Boult may not have got a run
