well its been a long time since ive seen michael vaughan come in and time everything right off the meat of the bat.....he is looking good.
Took the words right outta my mouth, he really looks up for this one. Lets hope he doesnt over do it and get caught in slip trying to smash a wide one to the boundry.

Oh dear, words of condemnation they were.

A grubber dismisses Vaughan LBW for 61.

Innings is going along at a rather good canter at the moment.

oh looked you jinxed him.....
i did mention at the start of the match that chris cairns needed to use that dreaded slower ball of his a little bit more.....hes done just that in this match and to good effect.
i dont think anyone has played a convincing shot against his slower balls so far.

Hmm, Franklin not doing too badly so far. I predict he'll take around six to seven more wickets this match, do well in the ODI's, be touted as one of NZ's greatest finds of the season, head into the next test series feeling good and then do utter tripe, and fall over with a hamstring problem in the third test, say just while bowling the last ball of his second over. :D

Atherton just mentioned that Mills had done his side and wont bowl again in the game?
He never said he wouldnt bowl again in the game. Although Mills has gone off with a side strain. That leaves Oram / Styris / Franklain and Cairns to bowl all the overs it seems unless Mills or Martin comes back.

I swear if Mills won't bowl and Martin won't bowl in this match and we lose because of our bowling I'm going to consider New Zealand bowling officially cursed as of this series.

EDIT: Of course, having said that, if Franklin injures himself we'll have made a clean sweep - Bond, Tuffey, Vettori, Oram, Martin, Mills... I don't count Cairns and Styris as specialist bowlers or bowling all rounders, so yeah.

Losing so many bowlers on tour, you qualify now as honorory Englishmen.

Funnily enough, I'm in Nottingham tonight - bowling for a team called The Crickets. I think I'll break a few matchsticks before I go.

Gotta wonder about the rotation of the strike, though... it's worse than NZ was earlier this tour (Richardson and someone?).
