**Official** New Zealand in Australia Thread

Haha I could see it on his face, he wanted to get it before lunch!

Well they've been bowling short balls which were far from ideal many times in the past hour. Yeah they got Martyn out, but that wasn't convincing. I don't think their pace tactics have been correct today. Vettori without a doubt troubled the Aussies, and they had to go after him to change the rhythm. The pace bowlers on the other hand were giving them early Christmas gifts.

This morning session has been so good (apart from Marto's wicket, ahem).

Channel 9 are just OBSESSED with Michael Clarke, which is justified I suppose. It makes me laugh when they replay everything he does fifty thousand times... Of course, hes producing some great stuff for them! Like that lovely off-side drive, and the run out of course.

Vettori loves that crack, haha. :p

Just quickly, is there something going on in Brissy today? Crowds a bit poor for a Saturday...

Haha I was thinking that was quite quick. Mind you, anyone who purchases that may be quite smart. If Clarke has anywhere near a career that his potential can give him, that'll be worth a hell of a lot of money by the end of it.

Why do you hate the fact they already have? He was one of not many to score a century on debut, why not?

Clarke is a legend. I'm so glad he has got a century on debut in Australia aswell as his test career when it started in India. What a great start to his test career.

Congratulations Michael Clarke !!! :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy

I was one of skeptics before his Test debut, but he has shown beyond doubt he is the future of Australian cricket !! :clapping: :clapping:

Good innings by Martyn too !! (Linda will be pleased . On the other hand may be disappointed that he didn't get a 100 :D )

Things not looking good for NZ . Any lead over 100 will finish this game tomorrow !!

Do you mean Martyn? I only mention this because there is a Martin in the New Zealand side.

It was drizzling at the GABBA last time I looked. Hopefully it is a passing shower-I don't know what the forecast is, so it might rain on us.

Well played Clarkey!!

Also, Styris' catch to dismiss Gilchrist was superb. Martin can thank him for that one.

Great catch. But Warne was almost 100% plumb there. Not a big surprise that he was given out.

At Tea on Day 3 Australia have took a huge 112 lead and are 8/465 thanks to a magnificent partnership between Clarke (141) and Gilchrist (126).

I'm finding it hard to see why we decided to bat on after tea - Gillespie's been blocking away, and Kasprowicz was fairly timid as well, before he was dismissed.

I would have thought we'd declare, and get the Kiwis in for as much time tonight as possible. Or, alternatively, go for the tonk for really quick runs.

McGrath just slog sweeped Vettori for maximum, Steve Waugh written all over it. He's in the form of his life... :D

Did you see Oram after Richardson dropped McGrath?

A not so nice word was expressed with expression which included head movement.

Bwahahaha.... That crunching sound you can hear is me eating my own words. McGrath and Gillespie on 34 apiece, and the Australian lead is in danger of reaching 200.

Some shocking cricket from New Zealand. McGrath could do this! Just hit a majestic pull, and he's on 38 - one short of his highest test score, and just a dozen away from 50.
