Pieterson will probably play better because he knows he can have good support in the form of a batsman in Solanki.

Interesting watching KP here. He clearly has a weakness outside off stump, and looks like a joke when he tries to play anything wide there, even when he gets it right he looks very shaky indeed.
He tends to make a strange Monica Seles-like grunt when he awkwardly reaches outside off, too. He's building his innings nicely though, looking for a final flurry like at Bristol.

Five overs left from the "fifth bowler" now. I'd say Ponting will try and run through four of them consecutively now before Gillespie comes back before the death bowlers.

Kaspa catches KP on the boundary but steps over the rope - Blowers made it sound like KP was out, I was distraught for a moment there.......

OK, going back to England's top-of-the-order ODI batting. Over the last year and a bit (i.e. since the start of last year's NWS) and excluding games against Bang & Zim, the average scores when we've lost our first 4 wickets have been 28.8, 41.7, 74.2 and 116.2
If anything, that undestates our problems in building a decent score, since most of the better performances have been when chasing a lowish total.

Understatement of the century there. More like "Kasprowicz leaps in the air, catches it with one hand behind his head and almost kills himself landing on the speaker on the other side of the rope"! :p

Andy Bichel or Chris Harris would have managed to catch it and stay in the field of play :D
Chris Harris would''ve had to stop for a break and a quick nap during the catch

Yorkshi*e's Sayers would have still claimed the catch...

As for England they can still get 250+ but it's only a sort of 10% type chance - but that's what they have to go for with Gough, Giles and probably Collingwood bowling 30 probably unthreatening overs. If Australia can play them out without trying anything then Flintoff and Harmison aren't likely to bowl 10 guys out between them.

Botham - "..and with that fifty he's (KP) undoubtedly played himself into that first Test at Lords".

Not saying who he'd drop though.

This is the 10th over from the 5th bowler now that Clarke is bowling. Gillespie and McGrath should come on now, with Lee to bowl 3 of the last 5.

England probably need 100 more to be competitive, a bowler short. Has to be KP.

Wow. I look forward to seeing that one later tonight.
