He was fastest to 50 wickets - but wicket taking in ODIs isn't the be all and end all. Test wicket taking will always be the judge of how good a bowler someone is.

And remember, Agarkar's in the team as a bowling all rounder, and who got hit for four off the last ball to cost India the match?

Don't worry I don't actually rate Agarkar...it was just a stat I remember Mark Nicholas bringing up on one of the very late night ODI Highlights "Packages" from India...:bird:

I don't understand that move at all - he's not going to at there in the World Cup realistically so why put him there now?

He might find facing the quicks of Australia, South Africa and Pakistan on South African wickets, just a tad harder than the demoralised West Indies on Indian strips. [/quote]

This is not a practice match just b/f the WC, its another series being played at a different place.

Ajit bowled reasonably well in the match, the bowlers who cost India the match were Bhajji who got hit for 68 runs and Kumble, just coz the winning run was scored of Ajit's delivery didn't mean he was the culprit!

I know that, but surely everything should be geared towards SA03 by now?

Anyway, no point in blaming Agarkar for the debacle. He tried more than anyone else in the team to avoid it. It's just that Harb and Kumble had off-days on the same day and that hit India hard.

Ahh fastest 50 wickets doesnt mean anything he is still crap... totally inconsistent with bowling , i know harbajan and kumble are to blame too and nehra....

We should try and focus on bowling now that the batting is good

I think Kumble should be dropped for the next odi.He is not bowling well at all in limited overs matches. He was known for his mean bowling but now it seems like he is bowling too many bad balls.I think India should go in with three seamers.Select J Srinath ahead of A Kumble

Here's a thought. Instead of blaming the Indian bowler's for bad bowling, why don't we give some credit to the WI batsmen huh? I mean, they were just a little bit demoralized coming into the ODI series and chased a large target successfully.....in the dark!!!

The batsmen played really well!!

No, 30 is too old to be starting a career - 30 having had 5 or 6 years experience is not.
You just never find the humour :P

Ganguly and Laxman are going fine right now, after India made a poor start. Its surprising to see Mark2 getting out cheaply in two matches in a row:( maybe he's missing his guru "Tendulkar"

Indian will hopefully win this match, they have gone in this match with 5 specialists bowlers and WI batters will be tested this time!!

Im not Going to Let you Include Agarkar in your list of specialists...

In my list he needs to go seek an umpiring career or coach some under 15 indian side... oh wait coaching will be bad influence

West Indies 131/1 (22.4/47 ov)

Yes game floating away from India yet once again , their bowlers are bowling extremely rubbish... Especially AGARKAR oooo what a suprise..

You've got to be joking if you think Agarkar qualifies as an all-rounder.

Out for 6 and then 5 overs for 32 runs

Lets face it, anyone could scored 95 runs against the West Indies bowling attack & its a shame that they don't have any better bowlers to complement their recently improved batting.

That's a new one - can England's batsmen who fail claim it's becasue Thorpe's not there? :D

Is Agarkar now classed as a specialist bowler then?

Only Srinath has reasonable figures here, and I guess his 4 overs are the key to the match now...
