Once again Ajit is picked. I don't know why Sourav has so much confidence in him. And Balaji is dropped. Oh choora you are in trouble now:lol::lol:
I thought that sort of thing would happen - if he's going to almost single-handedly transform India into the best side in the world he'll need to concede less than 35 runs in his entire 10 over spell, not in 3 overs!

well i just heard that Ganguly has been rested for the last two one-day internationals against West Indies due to a back injury. Rahul Dravid will lead the team in Ganguly's absence.
Captain, mainstay of the middle order AND wicket-keeper - I could see this ending 5-2.

I will stick to my opinion that Balaji is a very good bowler, one has 2 keep in mind that throughout this series NONE of the experiance pacers were even able 2 come up with a decent performance! The fact is that the pitches are totally dead, and when a team is easily chasing totals like 290-325, then it shows that there is nothing for the pacers.

So Ajit is back, and what a clever move, just a couple of match back he was dropped coz of poor performance and now he's back in place of Balaji.Hopefully Balaji will get a chance soon, would be good if he's tried in test matches

here we have another bowler who all Indians think will be the best, and look what happens to him, gets smacked for 10 an over.

India will only produce a decent fast bowler when the pitches and environment will offer assistance.

Til then we have to put up with Mediocre bowling (Nehra, Agarkar).

To be fair to the youngster, even if great bowlers from other teams were bowling on that muddy wicket, they would hardly have been able to come up with a respectable figues!

These pitches are hell for the bowlers, in a way they are designed to favor only the batters!

It appears to me that whoever wins the toss puts the opponent into bat, and whatever huge score the team batting first come up with, the team batting second gets it without much trouble!

Ok, high scoring matches are fun but really there should be something for the bowlers , the pitches seems to be nightmare for the bowlers!

He's also wanting to see his sick father...so maybe it is rather too "convienient" to be a real injury...
He's been saying for a while how he needs a break, and could've done without this series - better to miss a few games now and be ready for the World Cup.

Note to England Selectors/Management - this is an example of Long Term being put ahead of Short Term - might be worth using at times.

RE: Respectable Performances.

5 or 6 an over is creditable going in this series, that's what Drakes/Collins/Srinath/Dillon have been going for. Not 4-0-44-0 - I think Mr Balaji still has a long way to go.

And dropped after one game for Agarkar, poor guy...

Which is the best onedayer team in the world? I guess it gotta be England:lol::lol:

There are three top team right now India, Aus and SA. India was the best team in the CT just last month, which is suppose 2 be the second biggest tour after WC.
A full fledge Indian team with Sachin & Khan will have as much chance as Aus (if not higher) to win the WC!

Just to show how one sided these pitches were, i.e favoring only the batters, India and WI , both have been scoring around 300 at ease without their best batsmen in Tend and Lara respectively!!

You bat second, and you win the match, more of a getting a result right at the time of the toss!

Ajit got back into the Indian team after an impressive performance in a domestic match.
I think India have just the right squad to go all the way in the World cup. They have been winning nearing 70 percent of their last 15 onedayers, which is a good sign, and their batting is better than any side in the world including Australia.
My first choice playing 11 would be,

Sehwag/Gang/Laxman/Tendulkar/Kaif/Yuv
Bang/Nath/Khan/Nath/kartik

What happened to Yadev?? he was dropped after just one match!

Its often difficult for a new commer to perform in his first match, the anxiety to perform really kills one.It would have been a better idea to have the newcommer given an extended run, say atleast 3-4 match.Yadev and, Balaji was played in one match and are discarded and Ajit is again called back, can't understand how the selectors are working.

Overall though the Indian team is shaping up well, just need one good allrounder in the squad and then they are set for the W cup!

They need more than that - at the moment they desparately need bowlers if they're going to stand a chance.
