Rana in now, but Pakistan at least bat deep these days. Akmal coming in at 8, Sami at 9 and Rana at 10 doesn't leave much of a tail.

the key will be to make use of the 1 hour play tommorow if they dont gte 2 to 3 wickets in the first
session it could really become difficult

Has anyone in the UK paid for Sony TV's coverage? I couldn't get hold of them last night.

Judging only by CricInfo reports, the pitch doesn't seem to be doing too much so I'd guess Pakistan are in for some hard toil over the next couple of days. Anything other than a substantial 1st innings lead and subsequent victory for India would be a big surprise.

Good to see Balaji FINALLY get five, but needs to improve his bowling against non-Pakistani sides. What, and I repeat, WHAT, was he doing against New Zealand? If he got his wickets on a greentop and not another Southern Slider, it's a very good sign. Better yet- just 2 no-balls (only two of the bowlers), but still unacceptable, given he's only medium-pace.

The form of Zaheer is a MAJOR worry for the Indians- he's gone for over 4 an over, bowling on both sides of the wicket, which got the Pakistanis over 300. Asim Kamal is very good at building partnerships- he can stay in the team a lot longer, since they need such players. Razzaq is still dangerous- luckily he was snared quickly.

Hopefully DD Sport will show the highlights later today, not the full recording. Their analysis gets worse each day. Sadly, none of the other channels have footage to show highlights, as they could a few years ago.

Sami will be a key bowler for the Pakistanis- the Indians are just not used to his pace and if he bowls in the right areas, he can take quick wickets. The Indians should not be tempted by his tendency to bowl on both sides and go for lots of runs, because whatever the Indian pacers can do he can do better on this pitch. The potential targets are Razzaq (why is Kaif not playing?) and Rana, as also the part-time bowlers.
