certainly not from what i heard. from what i heard he said clearly that it 'hit him pad first' .
No, he never said such thing. In fact, admitted there was an edge.

and that he was extremely fortunate to still be batting out there. wasnt too much of a surprise when shastri just ignored it and changed topic either.
Fortunate for getting the edge, and not of umpire making a wrong decision.

I believe you dear. Yuvraj has a better technique than the FTB. Btw 14th over is a maiden, both batsmen really showing us how it is done.

well then you're obviously watching something different from what i am. i am absolutely certain that is what he said. he never even came close to talking about an edge.
i certainly dont believe anyone would say 'hes lucky to still be out there' to indicate that there was an inside edge either.

with our current bowling "attack" we need to make a pretty huge score if we are to stand a fair chance of winning...is this pitch difficult to bat on by any chance?

looks like a seamers pitch, IND already on backfoot with 2 spinners...but then again kumble is not really a spinner :)

Kanpur has always been a sporting wicket, 250-270 should be a winning score provided our bowlers control the extras.

We have seen poor judgement by Dravid by opting to bat first. His decision was more to do with the trend than with the Conditions.

you really are a joker arent you?
ive never claimed that anyone and i mean anyone has a better technique than tendulkar. this is exactly what i mean, you conveniently misinterpret all my posts to make it think what you want it to think, such as in this case, where you're trying to suggest something related to tendulkar, even though i've never said anything of the sort.
and yes one maiden over, 1 maiden over apparently shows that they're struggling isnt it?because we dont see maiden overs in ODI cricket is it?

Pitches in North normally support seamers in the morning. Naved made good use of the conditions.

it pretty much has been so far, its flattened out a little bit but theres certainly uneven bounce going around. i wouldnt expect to see anything over 230 really, 230 would be a very very good score. whether indias rubbish bowling attack can defend that though, is something else.

Two maidens in a row especially 14th,15th, is indeed very rare.

Oh as I type this Yuvraj 'better-than-tendulkar' singh is out. Really he was very comfortable out there to score 18 in 33 I guess Ganguly had similar score in last match. 59/4 and I am sure India is not struggling. :p

Me thinks India needs to score 230 first for the bowlers to be able to defend. I give another 100 runs before Afridi hammers those runs in 20 overs. He waits for such occasions.

i certainly hope you're being sarcastic, he nearly got dismissed 3rd ball, then slashed at a wide one outside the off stump and got an outside edge, and was squared up at least 2-3 times without getting the edge before he finally got out. his footwork was atrocious throughout.
meanwhile dravid has looked far more assured than he did, so has yuvraj.
Stop diminishing the image of the idol of the masses!

on a seamer friendly wicket? you must be crazy. unless of course you want to score at 6 runs an over on this wicket when you're top order is back in the pavillion and the conditions arent in your favour.

i really doubt afridi will score on this pitch, as poor as the indian bowling is.

Just looking at Cricinfo.....Can't believe Harbhajan is scheduled to come in next on their scoreboard, surely this is a mistake with Mongia there.

Even if Mongia correctly comes in next, I couldn't help notice how thin India are down the batting order, seems like a very long tail....

Mongia averages 27 and then you have....

Harbhajan averaging 11
Balaji 12
Zaheer 12
and
Kumble 10

well i think its fairly obvious though that they were expecting another batting paradise, and regardless they still have 7 specialist batsmen, which still isnt that bad.

Oh suddenly a sub-continent track that too in ODI became Seamer Friendly. This is what I call 'U' turn. :-O
