It still doesn't even seem sure that he's going to open with how much Bayliss and Smith have been bigging him up recently and all the talk being that he's going to be taken abroad as they think he's decent against spin, coupled with all the talk about Denly. Plus it'd be the kind of stupid thing for England Cricket to do.

Congrats to England on a thumping series win..also well done to KL and Pant who took this game right to the final session.also,well done to Anderson. Sad to see Cook go and the only thing I can say about him is: Legend..

Rahul batted beautifully today (and yesterday). A man with his talent should be averaging 45 plus in test cricket. He needs to kick on after this knock.

Wasn't counting Warner. Azhar is better at 3 I think. Early days for Braithwaite. Markham was horrible in SL. Elgar is a fair shout. Latham too.

Fantastic display by England this series. Stuck it out when required, and won most of the key moments and sessions.

They discovered Sam Curran, Ben Stokes solidified his reputation as an uber valuable all rounder. So did Moeen Ali, at home at least.

Congratulations to Alastair Cook and James Anderson. Both high class.

Yeah lots of decent openers averaging around 40 which is about the best you can hope for from an opener. Anything above 40 puts them to the top drawer

Good to see an Adelaide style fourth innings chase which didn't involve Kohli.

KL and Pant really gave the series the fitting ending it deserved.

Wonderful series with fantastic bowling and *some* fantastic batting. Will be remembered for all the competitiveness.

Hope to see better batting and fielding the next time these sides meet.
