Lyon always seems to cop an unfair amount of flak on here after one unimpressive performance, whereas lots of other bowlers can do really quite badly for a little while and we let it slide.

Edit: I gather there were 3 drops off his bowling this innings too

Shows how little there’s to talk about when people are criticising Lyon

He’s just about the least of our concerns

The draw is probably the favourite result at the moment but both teams probably still have a decent enough chance of winning. Neither really pushing ahead at this point, and the pitch could well break up given the groundsmen would have had the ramifications of it not doing so in their heads in the buildup.

It just never changed last year for whatever reason. I remember a few Aus batsmen chopped on which gave the impression that it was keeping low which it really wasn't. Didn't help that an England attack consisting of Anderson as the lone quality bowler had to bowl and try to push a result. If we'd have batted first Aus probably would have won.

At the very least this series has provided a variety of scores so far. High scorers are pretty entertaining when they happen every now and then

This really is an atrocious Australian batting lineup.

Harris looks decent without being special. Finch is batting out of position. Khawaja is quality but had family issues distracting him at the moment. S Marsh is the definition of long term mediocrity. Head is young and talented but still very raw. M Marsh holds all sorts of records no-one wants to hold, like having the worst treat match average for an Australian top six batsman ever. Paine hasn't scored a first class hundred in a decade.

Woeful.
