Vijay did not show any fight I am afraid. A highest score of 20 in 4 innings does not cut the cake at all. I would rather open with Bhuvi or even Ashwin (or get Pujara to open) than going back to this tried and tested failure.After all they will also score 10s and 20s.

We'll lose both matches if we keep both Vijay and Rahul in the side. Drop Vijay, move Rahul down the order if you absolutely have to have him around; he's been in the country for a while and might just be a better bet than throwing in someone entirely new to conditions. Ideally both should be in the wilderness based on merit and performance, but this is a far from ideal situation.
