Their fielding was what stood out, for me. They seem to be very spirited as well, something that I almost never saw when Chanders was captain.
Good call.

Lara was exemplary in the field, leading by example by throwing himself around. The West Indies out-fielding was good too, chasing everything down and not readily conceding twos.

superb game last night, Bravo's slower ball brought back memmories of Harmison to Clarke at edgbaston, as mark nicholas said ``given the match, given the situation, it was a staggering gamble to worked beautifully``.

Yes. Losing by 1 run is choking no matter who the side is.
Really? Situation: West Indies chasing 220 for victory - 195/9 needed 25 off 12 balls with Jerome Taylor and Fidel Edwards at the crease. They get to 218 and then Edwards is bowled. Choking?

Situation: 20 needed off the last over. Yuvraj Singh and Munaf Patel batting. Patel on strike. Yuvraj gets strike with 8 needed off the last ball. He hits it for six. Choking?

Your view is way too simplistic. That said, Yuvraj played an ugly and unnecessary shot.

Yes but going into the last 2 overs, it was WI's game, they weren't just on top, the game was there's to win.
I disagree. I think it only became West Indies' game going into the last over. 12 runs needed off 2 overs with 2 wickets in hand an a man well-set does not equate too much trouble. When Gayle took the stunning catch to dismiss Harbhajan first up and then Munaf Patel basically wasted the rest of the over away, that's when it became WI's game.

Granted, Bravo's delivery was even more of a gamble, considering that he only had 1 run to play with.

No one said India are chokers, he said India choked. Massive difference. Really whoever lost that game technically choked, because WI were in a position to win and almost lost, and then Yuvraj put India in a position to win (2 runs from 3 balls) and lost it.
You wouldn't have said this If Sachin(in stead of Yuvraj) had played that knock. 8-)

Cant believe you are saying this.

I wouldn't have said Sachin was a choker, I would have said he choked though. Difference.

I don't think Yuvraj is a choker, but he did choke IMO. I don't think people understand that there is a difference. If you do it consistently, you're a choker, if you do it once, the pressure got to you (as is natural) and you failed. No shame in that.

Hell I choked in Indoor cricket last night. :(

You had a bloke out there on the 90's who was a very capable batsman. Should've really won. India choked.
yeah and the windies bowling and fielding had absolutely nothing to do with it....8-)

CHOKING IS NOT THE SAME AS FAILING.

Repeat those words. If I fail an exam, I did not 'choke'. It is possible that it was simply too hard for me.

It is quite possible to try your best, and still come up short. That is not equivalent to choking. If Yuvraj took it to the last over, but in the end came up against an excellent delivery, it does not mean he choked. Choking is what Dhoni did in the Mumbai test, when he twice galloped down the wicket for an inexplicable reason.

It is also quite possible, that even if there was no pressure on Yuvraj, that he would have still been bowled by that delivery. Choking is failing to do something which you would otherwise have done if there had been no pressure. The delivery was excellent, so you cannot say that he failed to do what he would have normally done.

No pressure didn't get to him, he just got unlucky, he was pretty cool even when India needed 11 off last over and Munaf was taking the strike and he showed it by hittng two fours. Also credit to the bowler as well.

Choker is someone who comes into bat when India is chasing a good target and fails more often than not.

But he's been losing his hair slowly for a while now. Its just become obvious now since he's literraly balding.

It was said in jest anyway :p

I'd like to see Sreesanth come in for Munaf. Also, they should stop automatically sending Pathan at #3 when we have four other very capable batsmen as options.
