India go in with only four bowlers, including two spinners (so only two fast bowlers...only one of whom will likely be firing). Congratulations West Indies on a series win.
If it IS a bowler friendly track then going with an extra batsman makes more sense. It was on the batting tracks that they should have played a batsman less.

But there could be a case for playing one regular spinner and three medium pacers with Sehwag to fill in. But then .....

They say it's the fastest pitch of the series to date. That would seem to indicate that the best move would be 3 seamers + Kumble. That, especially as Harbhajan wasn't very impressive for the large part in the last Test. He got wickets, but that was a lot due to aggressive intentions.

Two pacers arent enough on a pacey track...especially our two pacers. Kaif + Yuvraj = 1 test batsman.

Two down!

Like I said, congratulations west indies.
Yep, because India would be better off at 2 down now with only 5 batsmen and a keeper playing? That is 4 players that can bat to come.

The first 2 wickets falling should show that clearly the more batsmen the better.

Choosing Harbhajan seems daft though.

Wow, 29 runs in 29 overs, haven't seen that happen for a while. Nice bowling figures:

PT Collins 7-3-4-1
CD Collymore 7-4-3-0

I'm afraid you've got you're own SP supporting India now Jono! ;)

Nah they'd still be equally down. But the extra batsman won't help as much as an extra bowler who might have taken wickets and gotten them out for cheaper. Of course, if Yuvraj and Kaif and Laxman all go on to make centuries, then I'll be wrong. With our bowlers, I think WI will take a big 1st innings lead.

Another wicket! 78-5. Like I said, they lost this game as soon as they picked only four bowlers, and only two seamers.

Yuvraj + Kaif = 1 test quality batsman.

Here comes Dhoni. I predict two sixes and then out. I mean, sixes are what counts, not the match situation.

Dravid = God.

That is all.
Would not go that far but without him today the Indians would have got rolled out for easily less than a hundred. Magnificent innings of determination and resolve, shame he could not reach three figures but it was just another indication in the gulf in class between him and the rest of the Indian batters who continually flatter to deceive when the going gets tough.
