Whatever it takes!!!
I wish India had won a couple of more tosses. At least, it would have made the contest slightly more balanced than what it turned out to be. Still think we would have been whopped, but at least matches would have been slightly closer.

On a side note, congratulations to Sachin Tendulkar for bringing up his 14,500th run in ODI cricket.
Difficult to miss the irony of Sachin having to be congratulated for every 500th run ! I hope we are not going to see a time when he will be congratulated for every additional 100 runs in his career :)

Hopefully the test series is a better contest.
That was very brave of you to say that, coz i think the test matches would be a real nightmare.I honestly don't think India can match SA, and i think our batsmen will struggle very badly.

If Dravid can come up with a ton, and Sachin, Gambhir and Saurav Ganguly put up a good individual score of 50+ runs, then i will be more than happy.

Hope Pathan will be just the towel boy .

What do you think guys?
Is it time for Sachin to bid adieu to cricket.
May be after the World cup.I know its his persinal decision but the way he has been playing recently doen't really suggest that he has the potential to last.
Agreed that presently he is still india's best batsman in every sense.
But to see sachin struggling like this has made me think on those lines.
I am personallly feeling very bad seeing sachin struggling so much whoever may be the bowler or whatever may be the condition its agonizing to a cretain extent.
Does he want to end it like sunil or like kapil? or may be like gangs(he has not ended it but its more or less finish) though in case of kapil he had a specific goal but sachin has acheived Whatever he could and has broken nearly every record.
The only time i had tears in my eyes watching cricket was when we lost to pakistan in chennai test match and if sachin continues to struggle like that i fear that the second time would be around the corner.

I think that innings had something to do with the painful blow Sachin got on his arm.

I think Sachin has 2-3 more years of cricket in him and he should play.Besides if you take out Sachin then the team would become a joke, untill weget a suitable replacement, there is no need to drop him

Agreed, Sachin struggled in the start, but once he got set he was playing beautifully. Taking him out of the team would be the biggest mistake possible. He played really smart, not slow. I was watching the news and they said Sachins inning was a joke. I wanted to hit them so badly. They were like Sachin should have scored faster. If he didn't wait until petersen, kallis, and nel came on, then he would have lost his wicket to Pollock or Ntini in single digits. Idiots, thats what the Indian media are. I hope they all burn in hell.

 Can`t believe how much criticism Tendulkar cops. Such a quality player.
Probably one of the few players who get criticized for doing good. May I also mention that on the news they said Dhoni's inning was more important than Sachins, and that's what Sachin needed to do, and not play a test match. If only they had a number we could call, then I would tell them stfu because you guys are idiots.

India slide to sixth in the rankings. We're back to square one!!!!! All those hopes and dreams we had about india after they beat SL 6-1 and then drew with SA, 2-2....etc etc...have come to an end! Hopefully im proven wrong, but i really doubt it!

I agree, you'd think that out of anyone, Tendulkar was going to be the person that the fans would stick with through it all.

Yet you criticise Kallis for playing a similar innings early on in the series on a far more challenging wicket, at least Kallis batted the fifty overs and took his team to a competitive total. Yet Kallis is selfish but Sachin is the master for wasting forty odd balls and getting out to a long hop...

We will still beat SL by the same margin if we play them in India and the same case with SAF too.

Chappell must be waiting for the tour to get over and all he needs is a win in India and the fans will hail him as the best thing to happen to India again

And if we have Yuvraj, Dravid, and Munaf playing all the games.

we really need yuvraj back! I think we missed him in this series. (although he would have been just as dismal)

Well, I wouldn't say just as dismal because his ODI form has been very good lately. But yea it wouldn't be enough to win the series. Yes if we had Dravid and Munaf as well as Yuvraj for all 4 games, we certainly would've put up more of a fight and if we were lucky with the tosses we might've even tied the series 2-2.
