Yuvraj is our best one-day batsman right now. To expect him to be dismal is stupid.
Yes, he's better than Dravid and Tendulkar in ODIs right now.

Well, I wouldn't say just as dismal because his ODI form has been very good lately. But yea it wouldn't be enough to win the series. Yes if we had Dravid and Munaf as well as Yuvraj for all 4 games, we certainly would've put up more of a fight and if we were lucky with the tosses we might've even tied the series 2-2.
rrrright!!! that was the reason we lost! ...and all this while i was wondering why! blind optimism is one thing but...c'mon there's a limit man....:)

Dude... you really think that with Munaf, Dravid, Yuvraj, and atleast 2 of the 4 tosses going our way, a 2-2 series wasn't possible?

No, 4-0 series was still going to happen. You can make that argument if the matches were close, but losing the way we did, it was going to be 4-0 even if we had 100 overs to bat. Considering we only managed to bat through the full 50 overs only once.

3 white guys. One of which was Chappell but I dont know the rest. The coaches were stood waiting for 10 mins before Khan came out for a quick stretch and then the rest came of and did very little for 5 mins.

The fielding work was pointless. The bowling drill was a little better but still very poor.
Ah well so much for Chappell being the one to bring in the professionlism to the team crap.... Chappell's happy to just suck the money out of BCCI and do nothing. I don't expect Chappell to go out bat for india but if he can't even get his players to do a proper warmup than i don't know what is he getting paid for, it shows how good his man-managment skills are. Chappell doesn't seem to give a toss really.

Dunno, have you ever seen the Indian team do proper warmups? Under anyone?

We just have an unprofessional attitude.

That just makes me hate Chappell even more. He doesn't give crap about the team, just wants the money, and end up back in Australia after World Cup.

Goughy, is it still only R100 to get in to an ODI? I remember being given a ticket at the gates when NZ toured because they were going so cheap

Its only a fw months ago that i was praising the indian cricket team for its attitude! They were winning and looked very active! Has everything changed so dramatically since? I thought that the chemistry amongst the players was excellet as well! Suddenly, there seems to be a lot of politics.....What has happened to India?

they have been exposed on pitches that offer some help to pace bowlers...simple as that...i don't think there is a lot of politics within the team(it's all been outside with the moronic mps crapping all over parliament as usual and the bcci making their usual knee-jerk reactions)...at least not so far...with the advent of ganguly, that too will probably start to happen....

Yes. I remember the team looking far more professional during the 03/04 tour of Australia, and they were certainly doing proper warmups before every day of the Boxing Day Test.

And they were able to produce results too because of that... I cannot stress enough that the work ethic is more of a problem for the men in blue than anything else!

Looks like India will play Pathan and Harbhajan and leave out Gambhir for the four-day warm-up starting later today. Bad move IMO, they shouldn't even be considering playing five bowlers right now. There's no way Harbhajan will play over Kumble so that's a waste of a spot as well. Batting is the issue and Sehwag and Jaffer need a kick up the ass.

Rest of South Africa have won the toss and elected to bowl. Should be interesting to see if Hayward, Morkel and co. can trouble the out-of-form Indian top order.
