I disagree really. I don't think you really have a right to expect any runs at all, but you should be able to expect sensible batting. Batting ability from a #10 is not required not expected, but a sensible cricket brain should be expected from every position in the batting order and in the field for that matter. Batsmen like Murali really annoy me to be honest.. whereas Chris Martin I don't mind so much...
And sensibile, gritty batting is exactly what Sreesanth has provided. Well done.

Kumble and Zaheer should be kicking themselves.

Hate to say I told you so (not really :D ) but this wicket was always going to suit the tall SA quicks

Of course, they've been helped by totally inept Indian batting from all bar Laxman, Dhoni and Tendi (althought the latter played one of the worst shots he'll ever play).
Conveniently ignoring the runs the SA tail got after you made that statement though ;)

SA all out for 270-280 isn't quite so far ahead of India compared to 328.

Sreesanth takes the lead under 100 with still India's best batsman to come.

Yes, I mean VRV Singh.

Considering Sreesanth's age, I think he has the makings of a fairly decent lower order batsman. Nothing in the allrounder vein or anything, but I can see him making handy runs at 8 ala Brett Lee.

Yeah I'm not overly impressed by Morkel. He's clearly got the tools to be a good bowler, and yeah he's young, but so were (and are) Munaf, Sreesanth and Pathan on their debut, and they don't get cut slack.

He's got 3 wickets yeah, but Dhoni's was a wide half-volley which Dhoni didn't use hit feet to and just wafted, and the other too were tailenders. If Steyn is fit for the next test I reckon he should slot straight back in. IMO he offers them more variety (Bounce with Ntini and Nel, line and length with Pollock and speed and swing with Steyn).

Definitely. We need it too, seeing as Kumble is clearly losing it at #8. Zaheer isn't bad either. No comment on VRV. :)

Yeah Jono, Steyn > Morkel for sure at Cape Town. Hopefully Munaf returns so we can have both teams at full-strength.

Oh, Morne used to be much worse than this.

First FC match: Five overs, 54 runs, 17 no-balls.
First Twenty20 match (in England): Two overs, 41 runs, three no-balls and two wides.
