Not to mention the batsmen in the South African lineup. They aren't really a "declaration runs" type of team.
Slowly its going to become a quiz question
When was the last time India declared their innings in a Test Match?

Yeah, but the commentators have been largely crap. Very reluctant to praise India and consistently focusing on the negatives while not calling out South Africa on the same things. And Ravi Shastri really annoys me.

I'm not commenting on the actual decisions though, **** happens.

For sure and when consider half of them have no form with the bat, India still have a decent chance of pulling of a victory (even more so than South Africa). New ball were be key and with the overhead conditions it should suit Zaheer to a tea.

Aussie fans were complaining about the SA commentators when Aus toured SA earlier this year.

They're just generally ordinary and don't try and hide their bias IMO.

I would disagree I think the Supersport team are very critical of most players regardless of nationality, Amla, Gibbs, Smith, AB et cetera have all received some fair stick throughout this series. Especially from the likes of Kepler Wessels and Barry Richards who seemingly mocks anyone with not a standard or correct technique.

Most praised player so far would probably be Sachin who the commentators have waxed lyrical about, hitting a half volley for four and suddenly that’s quintessential brilliance… Or getting dismissed like he did and all there can muster is “oh ok” if that was Gibbs he would have been strung up.

Yeah but all commentators feel obliged to admire Sachin, that's not really a sign of no bias.

Until now, they've paid Laxman no respect. But I do agree with your point regarding Kepler Wessels, he is very critical of SA on occasion.

Yeah, however they still heavily focus on the South African side of the game. They aren't always biased in terms of which players they praise or criticise, but they tend to focus their commentary on the South African view. For example, Amla deservedly cops a bit of crap from the commentators - but if he got out to a great ball from Zaheer, they'd still be bagging him rather than praising Zaheer. You wouldn't really take this as South African bias on the surface as they are actually laying into a South African, but they are still actually focusing on South Africa rather than acknowledging the good ball that Zaheer has bowled from an Indian perspective.

Australian commentators are often the opposite - harping on about what the opposition are doing wrong over and over - particularly Ian Chappell.
