Yeah annoys the hell out of me, but all you can do is watch with grudging admiration!Jono said:Despite Sehwag always playing more shots than Dravid, if anyone is going out I'd put money on Dravid, simply because Sehwag always seems to maul Pakistan and bring up tons even if Dravid is the wall and looks solid as a rock.
Sehwag has 50s, 100s, a 200 and 300 against them. Crazy.
hmmmmmmmmm, much vaunted. That is a funny word. YOu make it sound as though the Indian line up is not good at all......... Dravid, Sachin, Sehwag all average well above 50 and I would guess Laxman averages above 50 since his return in 2001. Ganguly is not anything to write home about and Yuvraj is still a youngster. I don't think anyone would call "this" Indian batting line up as the best in the world. We are merely a strong batting line up and I think most guys in this thread have said the same thing.aussie said:ha afridi must have killed India, also must commend Akmal he seems to really coming up as aa top class keeper-batsman. I reckon India will be looking for a draw so the much vaunted batting line-up all need to contribute.
well maybe vaunted wasn't the best word, but when i said i was refering to how strong India's batting line-up is.honestbharani said:hmmmmmmmmm, much vaunted. That is a funny word. yeah, the Aussie line up is in a state of flux as well, but like you pointed out, we will have to give this line up time (we have to give time to the aussie line up too, IMO) and then we can judge. Perhaps around this time next year, we will have a fair idea of what is going on.Dissector said:"I don't think anyone would call "this" Indian batting line up as the best in the world."
Actually why not? Considering how inconsistent the Australian batting has been recently against good bowling, I think India is up there at the moment. The top four have a lot of experience and runs in all sorts of conditions. Recently they have been joined by Pathan and Dhoni who make the lower middle order a lot stronger. India has a couple of weak spots in the top 6 but so does Australia with Symonds and Hodge.
We will have to wait for a year or two and see how this line-up performs abroad but given the absence of a truly great lineup anywhere else I don't think it's a stretch to rank them as the best in the world or somewhere near.
kumble, harbhajan and pathan have all proven themselves in test matches already and they showed a few good signs yesterday amidst the destruction. agarkar has a horrific test record and never looked threatening at all. he needs to go.krishneelz said:india are looking for a draw. A victory is completely out of the question, so that means india probably wont declare. With the flatest pitch i have ever seen expect records to tumble. And as for AA bowling poorly we can clearly see that nobody has bowled well so you cannot lay to much blame to AA
