India should well & win this series now, Pakistan have lost 2 very important players. My guess if any replacement will be for Afridi is Mansoor Amjad or maybe Mohammad Hafeez..

For an aussie you know quite a lot about Pakistani cricket... yes Mohammad Hafeez is likely to take over, but with a strike rate half of Afridi's, its hardly a like for like swap.

He's English - just steals a lot of bread.

I couldn't help but laugh at that Eddie, no offense Aussie. :p
I really missed a trick, didn't I?

I could have offended two entire continents if it had been naan bread I had accused him of stealing.

Lol. To be fair naan can be quite tasty, so one wouldn't lay any blame :p

It was good to see Dhoni, dho it again for India showing it again that he is turning into a match-winner for India. One again while chasing a huge score with India being pressure, Dhoni has done it again. Remember the 2 knocks he played against Sri Lanka, that 183* and the 45* in the very next match. Also a few knocks against Zimbabwe and South Africa and now this 46 ball 72* against Pakistan. No matter what his critics might have to say, but he has surely more than lived up to all the hype.

As for Pakistan, although they dont have Afridi and now India does not have Sehwag either. Pakistan is missing Shoaib Akhtar and so is India missing Harbhajan Singh, making the injury list look almost similar for both the teams and both India and Pakistan, will be playing a similar-strength team in the next 2 matches.

However, for Afridis loss, Pakistan do have Razzaq, who can bat in the same way as Afridi in ODIs. He has played some good knocks for Pakistan batting in the last 10 overs winning a few matches with his explosive batting, as Afridis loss might not hurt Pakistan that badly.

Preferred Indian lineup for the next match– forget the stupid-sub rule, and just play five bowlers– including Powar. They won't need to use that deranged rule and end up getting scratched with it.

Are the Indians missing VVS Laxman? He coudl have taken those four catches at slips dropped by Dravid and Gambhir. They need some safe hands there in those positions, but Dravid and Gambhir, who dropped those catches, are good fielders and there's no way they can't improve. Slips, however, are a very special position, and require specific fielders.

If Sreesanth sits out of the next match, the Indians will end up taking a step backward, which may even cost them the next two matches. He may not be very accurate, but the more experienced Agarkar and Zaheer are not particularly accurate either. One of these two has to sit out– although, ideally, both should be kept out. A pace attack of Irfan, Sreesanth and RP Singh with Powar as a spinner will be just fine, but that fifth bowler will just make up the numbers.

Get a real pacer like VRV Singh and Munaf Patel and give him a try as the 5th bowler. We could get a look at them before the England series too.

I remember VVS dropping 4 in 1 match!! Anyway, with Dravid around, VVS would never have been in 1st slip. Infact, he would never have been in 3rd slip either; so he could have caught only one of those catches. So no, I don't think we are missing him.

I thought Agarkar bowled quite decently in the earlier games and especially well in the 3rd one. Remember, he bowled a maiden after RP was hit for those 3 boundaries. A bad over then and the character of the game could have changed. But I won't argue too much about AA, I belong to the AAAS and you are quite obviously anti-AAAS :)

Pakistan will now struglle even more against India without Shahid Afridi. I think Rana Naved should be replaced by Sami and Imran Farhat in for Afridi. Also Inzamam needs to think about changing his bowling around and use Shoaib Malik more.
