***Official*** India in Pakistan

AA spanked for three 4s in a row right after drinks by Malik. Salman Butt brings up his ton. Trouble for India.

Salman Butt completes a brilliant hundred after Malik smacks Agarkar for three consecutive fours.

The crowd is going absolutely ballistic.

Butt gone, caught trying to drive Karthak over cover. Pakistan 201/2.

Afridi in. The noise around the stadium is deafening. Personally, I think it's a pretty stupid move. Yousuf or Inzy himself would have been a much better choice, speacially with Malik in such great hitting form on the other end.

I totally agree Beleg. When wickets are vital to D/L, why would you send in Afridi who could go out early? Inzamam would be perfect right now, or Yousuf.

We'll see how this goes.

It's basically repeating India's Dhoni plan - though Woolmer could easily have looked at the DL tables, seen that wickets lost don't make too much difference between 2 down and 4 down at this stage, and looked to drive Pakistan well past par.

Neil,

Thanks for pointing that out, makes sense.

Meanwhile, Malik has taken over the mantle from Butt and is playing even more aggresively. 89 from 63 and at one stage he was 46 from 40 balls. (or something very similiar)

Behold, as Malik throws away his wicket needlessly.

Edit: And Afridi, ever eager to please, follows on his footsteps.

Yousuf is becoming the new Inzamam as far as run-outs are concerned.

Game back in the ballance. This is turning out to be an interesting contest.

By the way, where is everyone else? It feels like I am posting for ghosts and ghouls.

Kaif runs out Afridi! - this is a huge wicket for India altho Pak still favorites IMO. Inzy is the big wicket tho he is so cool and collected in these situations

India gets Inzamam - the only way there were ever going to.

I suppose there goes the spirit of the game.

Was it that bad? The CricBuzz commentary was describing it as just another wicket, but I cannot imagine a non-controversial obstructing the field dismissal

What is going on? How did Inzamam get out obstructing the wicket? Can anyone who saw it please describe it to me?

Just about every cricket server has been fried, so it looks as though there's plenty trying to find out.

The throw from mid-off was aimed straight at Inzamam's body (which, to be fair enough was right in front of the stumps) - instead of getting out of the way and planting his bat in the crease (which he could have done without any problem whatsoever but would have resulted in a pretty hefty blow to the thighs), he stopped the throw with his bat, partly out of laziness and partly to protect his body.

The indian players appealed, and after a bit of consultation, Taufel ruled it out. (which it was, strictly according to the law)

Man, this is turning into a real nailbiter. Shrewd captainacy by Dravid and Karthik is repaying the trust spectecularly, so far.
