***Official*** India in Pakistan

3 overs left, 18 runs needed. It's extremely murky there with a heavy cloud cover. Dravid going with spinners - I have a feeling India will win this match, mainly because Rana isn't as good at playing spin as he is at combating pace.

And they are off. Pakistan wins the game by duckworth and lewis method. Inzamam is still visibly upset, waving his hands around madly in the balcony. The Indian team doesn’t seem to be very disheartened – they are clasping each other’s backs and acknowledging the applause of the crowd.

At the time Umpires called off the game, Pakistan needed 18 runs from 3 overs and frankly it seemed unlikely they would have gotten them had the match continued.

Nehrafan and Vandematram shut up! Why can't you be sporting, and take the victories and the losses the Indian team goes through with grace like every other Indian cricket fan on this board? Its fools like you that ruin every thread India is involved in.

Pakistani fans, please just ignore them?
u taken the words out of my mouth ,we win some we lose some just take it graciously :)

it would be interesting to know the views of indan fans if pakistan had made an appeal for obstructing the field

I'd have to see it to comment first.

I'm pretty shattered with this though. India were dominating the match with the bat at the 40th over, and the way they finished was very disappointing. An extra 15-25 runs would have been absolutely vital. The strength of the Pakistani batting line-up is obvious, and India's bowling line-up is by no means great, they needed every run they could get. Ah well, hopefully they'll come back in the next game.

Positives are Sachin, Pathan and Dhoni obviously, as well as the fight back with the ball by the Indians after the game looked gone when Pakistan were 1-2 wickets down.

Still :(

Pakistan Won, Well played by both teams. Yeah it is by D/L method but come on on if it would have been India they would have done the same. I would have liked to see Pakistan hit the final runs. Umpires did their best to continue the game and Pakistanis were not pleading for bad light neither did they show much joy over the win. I think it is fair as it was getting really dark and hard to see ball in such light.
Inzi dismissal was correct technically but Holding said it is against the spirit of the game. So both teams did their best to take the win by any means necessary. Anyways, well played both teams. I wrote before the series, regarding Faisalabad and light situation and I am pretty sure same would go there. So Indian fans now can wish that D/L would come to play on their side in that game. LOL.
Butt and Shoaib were just special. I know Indian fans wouldn't be happy but as I said any team would have done the same. Hope to see some good cricket in the four odi's that are left.

I would be infuriated and perhaps accuse the Pakistani fielders of being "cheap". But only Inzamam has a knack for doing these silly little things that combine with his bad luck to get him out in strange ways (first that run out vs. England, now this ... LOL).

As much as I liked Butt and Malik's innings, Mohammad Asif has been robbed off a deserving MOM award here. His bowling really stood out in what, otherwise, was a complete run-fest.

Asif should clearly MOM. Easily. When two teams score 300+ runs each, yet a bowler manages 3-30 he should be man of the match without question. He was robbed.

Inzi is a cute Multani halwai and dagah. LOL. For those who didn't see the England game, Inzi was in his crease and Harmison threw the ball to his wicket needlessly. The ball almost brushed Inzi wrists and Inzi jumped (Like you can imagine Inzi jumping but he did) and the ball hit the stumps while Inzi foot was in the air. He was given out though the rule said he was not out. Anyways guys, good game and good to see India coming back strong after loss in the test match. To my Indian fans on the board, no hard feelings guys.

That's not right, surely? They don't use a RED ball?
I just replied and said my apologies. I was writing in a flow and made a mistake. Next time will make sure to proof read it. Another point, India didn't bowl their quota of overs in the supplied time and than how can you blame Pakistan for that? If they would have, I don't think bad light would have been offered. Than Sirissant (pardon my spelling) bowled a bouncer and put some doubts in the umpires head. All I was trying ot say was it is all part of the game and no one can be blamed. Anyways, not trying to rub any salt to any Indian fans. Please read my post at the end of Indian innings. I try to be as unbiased as I can be. No, hard feelings, congras to both of the teams for playing some good cricket.
