You know their response is going to be Pakistan were saved by the bad light. They're pretty predictable after you've read a few of their posts.

I blame them for this loss. Those idiots jinxed India

These games always result in depletion of the body's adrenaline stores. TBH, this chase was always on the cards.

When asked about the way he got out Inzi had this to say - 'I can't
understand the rule - In Faisalabad(against England) I left the
ball and got out, here i stopped the ball and got out'

Even contemplating what nehrafan and vandemataram are thinking right now is highly amusing. Even more amusing is what they're going to say in response to Pakistan's victory. An incredible match though, I've been following it all through biology (hence I will probably fail in my coursework assignment).

Neil, do you have any links to that program of calculating D/L scores? Any link from where I can download that program?

Whatever it takes!!!
Good match. Both teams fought back in the end overs, PAkistan more so than India. I thought India's performance was creditable, given that Pakistan were (and have been) the better ODI unit over the past couple of years. Inzy, I thought, should blame himself first for his dismissal. Sure, it wasn't the most sporting thing to do but INzy was atleast a good 3 yards out of his crease and then blocking a throw that was aimed at the sticks, he WAS obstructing the field AFAIC. BUt good to see that both sides didn't blow that incident out of its proportions though. That comment by Inzy should be the quote of the month.

INdia need to seriously work on their bowling though. BUt I am not much fussed. The pitch was a belter and INdia had the worst of it, having endure a LOT of seam and swing in the first 5 overs with the 9:30 start. So, well played to both sides. I think both sides will be reasonably pleased with this outing.

SR Tendulkar 20* (31b 3x4) MS Dhoni 0* (5b)

17.1 Naved-ul-Hasan to Tendulkar, (noball) no run, bowled off a no-ball!
good length delivery, the one that nips back in sharply, Tendulkar
misses it by mile, ball clips the pad and crashes into the stumps
but...

LOLOLOL tough luck baldy. Match woulda really swung if it were to be given out.

   . Pakistan has NEVER chased 329 runs against India, or even against any team for that matter(not sure about this one though).
Actually Pakistan batting lineup is a good one & do have the capability to chase a target of 300+ but Indian bowling attack isn't capable of defending 329 even against Bangladesh unless they have Harabhajan and/or Kumble in the team. And on dead wickets like there in Pakistan, even 350 is a chasable score.

Tendulkar's recent innings can satisfy those doubters, but there's a far bigger problem at hand. Can someone come up with a sensible excuse for Agarkar and Karthik making EVERY SINGLE ODI SELECTION? One's tiny, inconsistent, underpowered and well beyond his best, while the other is merely a replacement for India's star spinners and nothing more. Don't blame Tendulkar for not winning enough matches when that other little bloke makes winning matches so tough for him. Why, even JP Yadav could have added more value in the team– he would also score a decent chunk in the final overs.

Back to Tendulkar, his innings is a clear indication that he's still got it in him to play for India. Even if he wasn't going for a four or six off nearly every ball (to satisfy some critics), he paced his innings well, and finally ended with 100 at a strike rate over 90. More than a batsman, he's a very good team player, and that can be seen in the partnerships he built with Irfan, Dhoni and then Yuvraj. Don't write him off yet.

What on earth has happened to Zaheer Khan? This man started off with a toe-crushing yorker getting rid of Steve Waugh, and at his peak, he has been a rather destructive bowler. Now, he's lost a lot of that power, and is thinking like a medium-pacer. His old-ball-issues are not helping matters much, and the decline of such a talented, powerful bowler clearly shows a lack of leadership in the Indian team since the 2003 World Cup. If he was treated the way Ntini or Harmison was, he would be competing with them. Now, the people that matter (who made these mistakes) shouldn't mess it up with the next best pace prospect.

Sreesanth bowled well initially, but a few four balls too many didn't help, nor did he have it easy facing set batsmen, especially Malik and Afridi. Still, the Indians were terrible when bowling, and there's nothing positive about losing after posting a total of over 300. The absence of RP Singh didn't help matters much, and hopefully he'll make the team for the next match. Better yet, even recall Sanjay Bangar– at least the final overs batting woes will be solved.

Nehrafan and Vandematram shut up! Why can't you be sporting, and take the victories and the losses the Indian team goes through with grace like every other Indian cricket fan on this board? Its fools like you that ruin every thread India is involved in.

Pakistani fans, please just ignore them?

I did a cursory check and I didn't find a single comment from either of them after you told them off. Jono, you're my hero!! I think CW should appoint you as a mod for this thread!

I think that India losing might have had a touch more to do with it. Wait till they win...

(You should have been here in August 2002, when Ajit scored his ton...)

Getting "wickets" with a no ball is not bad luck, it is poor bowling.
I wouldn't go as far as to say that it is poor bowling either. Yes he did overstep and this against the laws, but it is not intentional and its not like he does it every ball.

I'd have to see it to comment first.

Positives are Sachin, Pathan and Dhoni obviously, as well as the fight back with the ball by the Indians after the game looked gone when Pakistan were 1-2 wickets down.

Still :(

What about Sresanth? He looked more than decent. I only saw two overs in the morning but I am definently looking forward to watch him bowl again in the next ODI + highlights.

Hard luck Indian fans, still there is some serious questions to be asked if 328 cannot be defended.

To be honest I would have liked Pak batters to finish it properly but according to all reports light was bad and those questioning Pak batters taking light, I am willing to bet Inzy's breakfast and lunch that India would have done exactly the same. poor bugger though always getting out some stupid way.. Bahush na ho to.

*LOL* Still he knows he should not block a strike on stumps with his bat. Why not just fricking turn around and put the bat in the crease.

Fantastic game . Good to see Tendulkar get some runs . Best thing of the day to me was the way pakistan went about the chase at least until yousuf played that shot(we can always forgive afridi). Salman is really an excellent addition at the top as far as chases are concerned. Handles pressure pretty well .Saw him first time about 6 years back in a school game and he single handedly won the match from us chasing our modest score of about 200 in 20 overs .Anyways its always nice to see some controversary in the game 8-) .Personally i feel use of D/L did some justice to what happened earlier with inzamam because at that point of time probably it was 60/40 in favour of india . Its all right to say that it was within the rights of indians to do so and sportsman spirit counts for nothing in indo pak matches but probably justice was done in the end .
For the indians i saw seebarah or whatever they spell him first time today and was surprised a bit . They probably should have tried him in the tests with the talk of 3 lamp but its easy to criticize after the event .I hope they dont waste him like many others coming in the last few years . India desperately need pace to succeed outside subcontinent . Succees of only pakistan outside the subcontinet on somewhat irregular basis among asian teams is the reason enough i guess .
I have been a silent reader of this forum for a long time now , actually carried on from cricketgames.com(i hope MODS will have no objection here) and its nice to see how the place has grown .
Long post now but just one point to take some opinions here .
I just had a feeling today when Tendulakar made the 100 that india would'nt win even with 330 runs . Actually as far as i can remember its just two times in 57 games that tendulkar scored heavly and india won .I know that people would say that Tendulkar has done his job and its up to rest of guys to carry on . But should'nt tendular at this stage of his carrier take up the responsibility to guide india to victories . They've got plenty of master blasters now .On the subcontinental piches anyway(Pathan,Dhoni,Sehwag and probably youraj too)

thinks is fair enough to call Pathan a geniune all-rounder now his batting looks very good to bat in the top 6, only weakness i've notcied is that he gets his front front across the stumps & is a huge LBW candiddate for right-arm bowlers coming around the wicket.
