*Official* India in Pakistan Thread

I fear this match will turn into a batting contest between the two sides unless something extraordinary happens.

Why couldn't they have produced a wicket with some life in it ?

Games are seldom won and lost on day 1 - although it's exceedingly rare for a team in this kind of position to lose.

that was 329/4, this is 356/2. the difference is too big.(can we concentrate only on the positives).

Only one team has batted and its only the first day
i dont see(although i'd love to) zaheer/irfan/bala/kum taking 20 wickets or dravid setting a target if hes not sure of at least a draw.

im starting to hate the guy more than i hate tendulkar!!
either you are not an indian supporter(which seems unlikely considering you are from bang..) or you are just crying for attention.... which is it mate?

looks like indian openers are causing a few problems. when dravid is coming in he is having to keep up with the pace rather than starting from scratch. And sachin has to provide support rather coming up with his own scintillating innings. not that the players or i am complaining.

Virat Kohli (c)
"It's my best innings in Test cricket," he said of his 228 not out, refreshingly devoid of doubt at the end of a day of exhilarating batting. "And I would definitely like to go for 300 tomorrow."

---

Anyone willing to stick their neck out and back him to get 300? :O

On another note, is it physically impossible for Chopra to get past the 40s? Poor guy :(
i wouldn't say that was a major problem though when you look at how his recent predecessors have performed!

Chopra is to deffensive.
Erm, Test's last 5 days - what's wrong with an anchor batsman, I mean it's not as if the likes of Tendulkar, Ganguly etc. are slouches.

Yeah thats the problem no one can consistantly face 120-140 balls every inning and thats what he would have to do to avrage a mere 40.
"A mere 40" average?

I can think of a hell of a lot of people who wouldn't object to that when opening

Now the highest score by an Indian against Pakistan, going past Manjrekar's 219.

Just Bob's 281 to go now
He's said he'd like to go to 300, so that's the first hour of the day sorted.

By lunch he'll be after Hayden, and Tea it'll be Lara?

The wicket, by all accounts seems to be a sleeping beauty and this has all the makings of a high scoring draw unless either of the sides go in for a self-induced batting collapse. Well played Sehwag! Hope you can score a triple for India!:D
