*Official* India in Pakistan Thread

Just because he's not in the Test Team doesn't prevent him being a better all-rounder.

Just because he's NOT in test means he simply doesn't qualify as i'm talking about test matches.

Oh yes, 9 wickets (more than that managed by any Indian) @ 29.33 is a real failure

Is it Nehra's fault that after winning a match for India he got injuredand wasn't able to play all matches? Is it Pathan's fault that he wasn't played in all matches?.Surely those two were the pacers that impressed everyone in the series.Akhter took nine wkts in 5 matches, big deal, but he gave away loads of runs.

BTW, one can see how Akhter and co are faring at Multan test.Interestinly MARC has been rating Shabbir highly, but unfortunately Shabbir is proving to be probably the worst bowler in cricket with every match he plays.

India 400-2 with Sachin near his hundred, and Sehwag near his tripple.

Hope India reach 600+ and Sehwag reaches 400:D .

This Pak attack is probably the most over-rated and over-hyped in test history.

Even though i'm happy that India is thrashing Pak, but the poor quality of resistant by the oponent is really dissapointing me. Man i wish India was playing against a quality team.

Pak cricket board are shameful lots, this pitch is totally dead and hence playing on such pitches is stupid. It is clear that PCB have adopted a negative tactics of preparing pitches to get drawn matches rather than going one that can give a result ( as they fear that the result would be in favor of India).

This test will either end in draw, or Kumble will win the match for India, i do hope Kumble wins the match for India as people who doesn't shows guts shouldn't get away with dawn results.

CONGRATULATIONS VIRENDER SEHWAG!!!

The highest ever score by an Indian. He just passed Laxman's 281 and he's still going! Come on Veeru, get to 300 :D He's been dropped 3 times I think in this test, crazy.

Also Sachin gets another test ton and passes Steve Waugh's amount of test centuries, can't overlook the master blaster.

India 456/2. Many are saying the pitches are flat, I can't disagree considering I haven't seen any footage as of yet but it must be pretty damn bad. Pakistan's fault though, India are just taking advantage of this. :)

Sehwag on 291 now... Amazing stuff. There was something about the way that first hundred was hit that said this was going to be a special innings.
In sight of the big one now: 381. Less than 100 runs to go.

Come on Sehwag, go for the big 400!!!

Unfortunately, he seems to be in a bit of trouble now. Giving chances and mishitting an awful lot. Having said that he's just smashed one so hard fine leg didn't have a chance.

115.4 Shabbir Ahmed to Sehwag, FOUR, goodness me! edged and wide! another good delivery, Sehwag drives and gets a thick edge, ball goes wide of the diving keeper, another life!

115.3 Shabbir Ahmed to Sehwag, FOUR, short and wide outside the off stump, cut away to the third man boundary, Sehwag gets past Laxman's 281 and becomes the top-scorer for India in Tests! well done

115.2 Shabbir Ahmed to Sehwag, FOUR, oh dear! edged and dropped! good length delivery outside the off stump, Sehwag drives and gets a thick edge, went to the left of the first slip who messes it up

 Gotta love Sehwag... unless you're the opposition :P

Well done Sehwag.

To score a triple ton at Test level you really must be special as a player if he gets there.

SRT's ton is going to be the most unregonised century he has ever made in his career.

All the focus it has been on Virender Sehwag, none on SRT and he is closing in Gavaskar's record.

Though I haven't been able to watch the game, I think that must make Tendulkar one happy man. He must be so comfortable in the middle knowing the pressure is off his shoulders compared to his knock in Sydney earlier this year.

Pakistan are getting mauled. :O

Congratulations to Sehwag on 292* (would become 17th triple centurion and it would be 18th triple century ever with Bradman having two) and Tendulkar on his 106*.

That partnership of 294* is going at the supposedly named 'Aussie' pace. 3.89 an over has got to hurt, also such a fast rate could set up a result.

Might be worth waiting to see what the final scores are before talking about thrashing - as far as I can see there's only one outcome for this match unless Kumble can take about 16 or 17 on his own...

If he were Indian he'd waltz in the Indian side as a bowler, and he also averages nearly 50 in FC with the bat.

That is a hell of a lot better an all-rounder than Pathan, whether he's played Tests or not.

Wow, simply amazing stuff by Virender Sehwag.

It must've been the fastest 300 in history, the way he was going. To get 309 at a SR of over 80 is unbelievable.

Also, what about the great Sachin Tendulkar. Absolutely brilliant, and he has been as calm and composed as I have ever seen him bat. Absoultely brilliant.

Marc, I disagree somewhat with your comments on this Indian bowling lineup. You give them a lot of criticism, even when they perform quite well.

I for one can guarantee you that India's bowlers will do a much better job than Pakistan's in this test match, and that Irfan Pathan, Zaheer and Balaji will come out with better figures than Sami, Shabbir or Shoaib.

India's bowling isn't world class by any means, but its better than many people think. Remember pace isn't everything, but swing is, and Pathan can swing the ball more than any other 19 year old or any other international bowler going around at the moment.

Well Done India!

Sensational triple ton Sehwag. Great partnership. Good to see that India are going on from their form in Australia.

Exactly. Even the most elite cricket players find it tough catching Virender Sehwag's rockets, when he slashes there's very little you can do other than hope it sticks.

I'm so happy for Sehwag, absolutely brilliant knock. I had the pleasure of seeing his 195 live in Melbourne, but was very disappointed when he threw away his wicket. He's learnt from his mistake, and now look at him. Like Dean Jones said, Sehwag is only now realising just how good a player he really is.

Sachin marches on, let's not forget he's now got the 2nd most test match 100s ever. Brilliant.

What a great day for Indian cricket.

Might be wrong but I think that both Sehwag and Hayden brought up their 300's in 364 balls, which is most probably the Test record.
