Still can't run, though.

Just heard the following through the DD stump-mic...

(inzy runs the ball down to third man)

<Younis> Two
<Inzy> One
<Younis> What? There's easily two there. If I wasn't batting with such a poor runner there'd be three
<Inzy> Poor runner? I'll have you remember who you are talking to.
<Younis> (****ily) OK, fatty. You run one, I'll run three and we'll take the average.
<Inzy> (cleverly) Ah, India are to be bringing Kartik on again. Now I am wanting you to be playing the ball over square leg whenever you can. Don't worry - Pathan can't catch.
<Younis> OK, skipper
<India> HOWZAAAAAAAATTTTTT?

When will we see DD Diary on the front page again?

Onto serious manners, I reckon Balaji is probably a much better player or hitter then what his record suggests.

He can play some drives that Dravid would be proud of and can hit the ball quite a way.

294 to win, looks to be like another huge run chase is on the cards. I was very pleased with Zaheer Kahn's figures today, a big improvement from his last few games. Unfortunately Balaji took a bit of a beating but I think his 2 wickets in the last over probably kept Pakistan under 310 - 315 knowing what Razzaq can do.

Going to be an interesting run chase. I've gone my money (not literally) on a Sehwag ton today. Just have this feeling.

9/293 in the end, brilliant innings again from the Pakistan captain with 123, support from Yasir Hameed, Younis Khan and Abdul Razzaq. Most of the bowlers kept it to 5rpo but 30 extras lifting Pakistan to a good total.

India shouldn't have any problem in winning this game, IMO.
My congragulations to the Indian bowling, specially Pathan and Khan for a courageous display. Pretty Welldone.
Still, it was pretty good stuff from Pakistan in the last 10. 95 runs at 9.5 is not bad but could have been better had Inzamam been in full flow.

Inzamam did score a century, but he certainly wasn't as fluent and dazzling as he was in Karachi. The purple patch which had started with Yuvraj's over and reached the zenith in Balaji's first delievery suddenly ebbed away. Pakistan certianly seemed to have lost it in Over 37-42. Granted they lost the wicket of Younis Khan but this shouldn't have dettered Inzamam from going for the big shorts...But these overs seemed a kind of a slur...almost in slow motion, tame bowling being played equally tamely. Even Razzaq seemed placid for a moment or two. In short, they lost the momentum they had gained a few overs back and had to start all over again.

Full marks again to Indian pace bowling [and Murli], speically for the way they worked out Hameed. They sure had done their homework.

I can see this match going India's way....

Patience, my pretty one, patience, for is it not written:

"When the pie-eating monster smite his enemies
for a magnificent one two three,
there world will shortly witness the return
of the Devil known as Ducky."

or something.

My friend is trying to convince me Sehwag went out first ball from Akhtar even though cricinfo says its an innings break. Damn pranksters. :!(
For a second I thought I jynxed Sehwag like I did to Dravid in game one. :(

Man this is going to be tense.. Decent batting from Pakistan but they could have done better. Afridi..why why why do they pick him again and again...Disappointing performances from Yosuf and Moin. Razzak and Yonis did just okay. All in all I think they fell short by 30 odd runs.

Sami and Shabeer have less of an error margin today. They really need to fire if Pakistan is to have a chance. If you fancy any side to score that total then it is India and going by the run-fests in teh first two ODI you get the feeling it will be 2-all by end of business.

Pakistani bowling has not really fired on all cylinders in the last three (except in Peshawer where Shabbir got going on a friendly track). Can they do it today!!!

Yuvraj and Kaif are going to have to do what they did to England in the NatWest Final a couple of years ago.

I do get cable TV, but I'm in Mumbai, not Hyderabad. Here, Ten has been blanked out, so we have to watch the series on DD. They've still not got that channel fees drama sorted out.

Don't forget Dravid. He's far better than Yuvraj and Kaif. Besides, this may be the day Yuvraj gets a match-winning 150+ score. Good running. Yuvraj has to bat at 3 in future matches. Good player of pace.

I have to ask, is pace really a weakness of this Indian team? Slow Shabbir has been hit hard, while Razzaq was lucky to get that wicket, but Sami and Shoaib have caused havoc. Good to see the Pakistan team playing to their main bowling strength- pace. Why can't the Indians play 2 or 3 spinners in ODI's? They have the worst pace attack in international cricket, since none of the bowlers have that extra pace, but their spinners are quite effective and look for wickets. They'd still do better than the so-called fast bowlers even in pace-friendly conditions.

Indeed, Dravid is the probably the key BUT without Kaif or Yuvraj doing the business, this won't happen for India.

I suppose I still remember about what those two did to England and think they can do it again.

Right on. Dravid is the main danger. If Pakistan can take him out then they got a hope. If they can take Yuvraj then they should have it sealed. I dont rate Kaif much.

Well if Dravid doesn't get himself moving, it won't be happening at all.

India need more than 10 from 25 deliveries.

EDIT: As I type, 4 runs for Dravid :)

EDIT #2 : And another from Dravid, he must have heard me. :P

EDIT #3 : 4 more, now he's just trying to embarass me. :(
