Shabbir is a very capable pacer, someone that provides excellent support to Shoaib and Sami in test matches. If Pak bring Saqlain back, then these 4 S's will create problems for Indian batsmen in comming test series.

V. V. S. Laxman should also be droped from the one day side. He is a terrible one day player as he can't put runs up quickly and plays it like its a test match. I think the 3 centuries in Australia were a fluke. Move Ganguly to number 3 and bring in either that Dhawara guy or Rayudu. For right now, we may need to pring in Partiv Patel because he can surely put up the runs in a huryy.
Fluke? :O :O What?

I wouldnt mind having that sort of fluke.

yes but to say that he is a hit and miss player would be putting him in the 'chris gayle' category:D
No way would I, or I imagine most of the rest of the Cricket spectating public, ever put him anywhere near as good as Chris Gayle.

Plus India lost, Sachin was out for 0, there is no charm in it really to be watching it 11:30 pm until 1:30 am.

If it was on in the morning or afternoon I would've watched it.

So for today, its getting my Engineering Assignments finished, watching WWE Smackdown! at 7:30 pm, eating dinner, and hitting the sack at around 9:30 pm.

Not a very interesting life eh?

I hope it gets a little more exciting soon.....
Which specialisation did you choose in Engineering mate? Mine is even more boring nowadays. I have three more exams to go in the next one week and then 3 yrs of degree and 3 yrs of Masters to go  .

Well the series has claimed three suicides in India already . Those people must have had a trouble free life so far that they can't even digest India losing in a game. Oh Well This is what makes the world interesting place to live in :alien8:

I find this sort of news staggering - saying that, though, when Derby County lost in the 1973 European Cup semi-final, I thought I'd never smile again.

<quack> You didn't

I did - look. I'm smiling now.

<quack> That's a smile? I thought that it was an old wound.

Well it keeps the population down a bit. I mean that in the most sympathetic, sensitive way possible.

If you had seen the NDTV report, you'd have heard of one. It's sick when NDTV tries to feature such events on prime time news.

As long as the Indians don't lose yet another ODI series, one or two matches don't matter.

All those who have been watching the IND/PAK series on DD, may have a few complaints with the bad sound. What's DD doing about it? What can the viewers do?

Sometimes, I have to ask, is Nehra really good enough to play at the international level? He's a decent bowler, but he's a bad fielder, he can't bat and he's almost always injured at crucial times and has pathetic comeback games. Should the selectors ignore him till he improves on these three fronts? The same can also be said about Zaheer, who does have some batting ability and is a decent fielder.

The Indians should treat Powar, Sehwag and Yuvraj as regular bowlers. They can stick to Pathan and Balaji. No point going in with someone who's got wickets in the past if he's not likely to pick up a wicket and drains a lot of runs like a kitchen sink. A lineup of Pathan, Balaji, Powar, Sehwag and Yuvraj may win the game, but the fielding has to support them. Which is why I think the Indian team needs more Reetinder Sodhis and less Gangulys.

Why are you preferring DD over Ten then? :P

Indian cricket fan commits suicide

Raipur, Mar 18 (IANS) :

Shattered by India's loss to Pakistan in the second one-dayer, a 40-year-old cricket fan in Chhattisgarh hanged himself to death.

Dhaniram of Bagbahra block, 100 km from here, in Mahasamund district hanged himself in the woods near his house Tuesday night, hours after India suffered a 12-run defeat in Rawalpindi.

Police recovered a suicide note from the suicide spot in which Dhaniram accused the Indian players of lacking commitment.

In a statement to police, his wife and son said Dhaniram was crazy about cricket and had predicted a clean sweep for India against Pakistan in the ongoing five-match limited over series.

"He was a cricket maniac and soon after India's defeat, he stepped out of the house and went to the field, saying he was not impressed with performance of Indians and did not want to live a single moment," a family member told police.

But his family did not take the threat seriously - and paid the price.

His body was handed over to relatives Wednesday night after an autopsy.

Police said it was investigating the matter but it looked like a definite case of suicide related to cricket.

I never said so! In fact, I don't mind paying a little more for Ten, at least the sound is better and instead of that Fourth Umpire nonsense, they have a good analysis session.

Everyone here prefers DD!!!

I didn't realise he'd bought the rights to show it - would I had the coverage, I'd imagine the commentary would be highly entertaining!

Nehra has the potential to be a world class act if only he works hard at building himself up a bit like Akram had to. I think he has alot of similarities with a 'young' Akram who also used to struggle with injuries early on. Nehra has a very similar style of bowling to Akram although he probably doesnt have his variety, speed and raw talent. Instead of ignoring him the selectors should work with him and on him to strengthen his body, analyse his action and identify which aspects he should work on. Akram would be a perfect coach for him in my opinion and could share his experiences with him. Its a pity India do not have someone like Imran who took Akram under his wing. Kapil should step up I think (not saying he hasnt ..i just dont know if he Nehra is getting good support or not)

For the record I rate Nehra more than Zaheer. Pathan looks decent though.

Whatever happened to Mohanti btw?

Someone should give him the job. He would be more useful as a bowling coach and mentor than as a television star!

Nehra's bowling is decent, but his fitness is always weakening him. A fully fit Nehra will be a very good bowler, but he has to work a lot on his fielding as well as on his batting.

As for Mohanty, his lack of pace weakened him on flat pitches. He is quite effective in conditions that help, but the team needs someone who can bowl well on all conditions, and fast.

Yeah Vishnu,

My Bachelor of Engineering Degree is 'common' in the first year. Im a first year student, so Im studying everything this year:

Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Maths, Computer Engineering, Materials Engineering etc.

But hopefully in 2nd Year, I can specialise in Chemical Engineering, although it depends on the marks I get.

I find Chemical Engineering to be the most interesting out of all of them. Im finding Electrical to be the most boring!

So, yeah Ive got 4 years of this Bachelor's degree to go, then hopefully 2 years of MBA or something like that.
