Good game, victory for the Indians. At least they too 9 wickets for less than 300, so it's not that bad. Giood innings by Inzamam, that could have won the match. Second time unlucky. His running has impressed many, since he was once the run-out specialist. We won't hear any more of those jokes. He's having a good series.

Zaheer has helped himself a little by good, tight bowling. If he keeps this up, he'll be a very efefctive and wicket-taking strike bowler. Irfan has to be more consistent. Sometimes, Balaji's lack of pace has still been a problem, but he had come back well in his last over. He was quite unlucky throughout the match, but for that last over. I have always been against playing 3 seamers of medium-pace, and still am, given the way the series has gone, but this pace attack is quite good. As for the batting, they have their problems with pace, but that second-string attack was nothing special.

For the final match, Bhandari should not play. He's not in the Test squad, so, like most other players in the same condition, he might just play carelessly, jsut like Sehwag who played well for his century in SL, before he was left out of the Test team. He ran himself out intentionally, like he didn't care, and the Indians lost that series. This is why I have to ask, is there any point in announcing the Test team before the end of the ODI series? Players who are still in will take the series even less seriously.

This part-time nonsense has to stop. This is a really, really weak link in the bowling. The good work of the opening bowlers was undone by the rubbish bowled by Sachin and Yuvraj. The captain should stick to one bowler for all matches, who gets all 10 overs. That should be Sehwag. The part-timers should only be used in case of emergency. Here, they're making emergencies. Sehwag, when used as a bowler, has worked wonders for the team. Rather than play Dravid as a wicketkeeper, the team should play Sehwag as a bowler, to add that balance.

Good bowling by Karthik in this match. He has definitely learnt from that disastrous Australia tour and will play a big part in the Tests- given enough opportunities, support from the fielders, wicketkeeper and a spin partner. Good to see 3 spinners in the full 15. I hope all 3 of them, or at least 2, play in all matches. The team does not need 3 medium-pacers, those bowlers are targets on these pitches.

As for the batting, Laxman's form is worrying. Red Alert indeed, as Ten Sports said, that he has just scored 44 runs against Pak in 6 innings, at an average of 7. His opposite number, Inzamam, has been going great guns, so it's about time he got a lot of runs himself. Yuvraj should bat higher up, since he's a very good player of pace bowling. Dravid not for ODI's? Get real! Kaif has proved his critics wrong, with 2 catches and a good 70-odd in quick time. Hopefully they'll carry the form into the next match.

btw do u guys think this series is fixed. definetly looks so with games 1 and 2 being very similar and then 3 and 4 too both 5 wicket wins.
Why does it look so?

Could it possibly be that the 2 sides are very close to each other?

IMO, definitely not.

wouldnt be surprised if the test series ends up being 1-1 like the way it was fixed last time
Fixed last time?

I hope you have hard evidence of that.

Yes well said. IF india wins a match convincingly then it is termed as " FIXED "

boy gimme a break.

Excellent play by the indians especially by Kaif. 8D as he provided the much needed to support to Dravid who was as usual at his best.

COMMON INDIA 8D :cool2:

I read a statement by Rashid Latif saying that he expect India to win the series 3-2!

In another article, Inzi has admitted that their much hyped attack has been exposed in this series.

Interestingly Ajit and Kumble will be joining the team for the test series, i think with their inclusion, Indian bowling would become far superior to that of Pak.

I think Pakistan face a dilemma for team selection in the final match. Taufeeq Umar really has to come in, but where? Should you replace Younis Khan, hes never really been a match winner and can be a liability when Pak is trying to chase a large total. Shahid Afridi has his critics but if you think about it, Pak have never lost a match when he has struck, he bats with such ferocity that if he strikes he has more or less won the match for Pakistan. The other dilemma is whether they should take the risk in playing Shabbir. He would be excellent in test matches but he is too indisciplined to play one day cricket for Pakistan perhaps a suitable replacement would be Saqlain or even Danish Kaneria, where's he been all this time?

Unfortunately he only strikes one in five, tops - and he's had that in the 2nd game.

Yes he does have his critics and I am one of them. He is a liability. He puts the rest of the team under pressure by getting out in the first 15 overs when there is an opportunity to score. The next batsman first has to steady the innings a bit before playing any shots. I think the guy has become a joke in the international cricket, almost every bowler worth the name knows his weaknesses and bowls to them and Afridi happily obliges. I mean seriously he must not have two brain cells to rub together!!! and he has been given chance after chance.

He flukes it every now and then and he can hit mediorce county bowlers out of the ground but he rarely bats well against top notch attacks.

Too rarely for my liking and I do not think he deserves his place in the team even if he does go on to score a 100 runs in the next match..

IMO, Afridi is best suited to the role he played in the 1999 WC when he was 6th bowler and a lower order batsman. In this role, I wouldn't mind having him in my team because he has the rare ability to make things happen.

Why? whats so funny? I just check some of your post and u had suggested that Pak would win the OD series 4-1.Its not that i find India unbeatenable, but being beaten (4 to one) by pakistanis , a team lead by loonies like Shabbir and Sami is hardly realistic!

I like thrillers, by i just hope that the final match doesn't go down thewire as i would like India to beat Pak by a bigger margin, that would destroy the spirit of Pakteam before the more important test series.

That was in frustration man

C'mon yaar how can you find Sami so poor while the Indian bowling so good. You were the one who said that Pak batting is poor but they have still ended up scoring around 300 every match . Shabbir and Sami are one of the better bowlers in the world at the moment though i have doubts about the action of Shabbir. Anyway sorry if my comment hurt you

Noida woman immolates self over cricket

NOIDA: Cricket-frenzy took a tragic turn on Sunday when a Noida resident committed suicide by setting herself on fire.

Thirty-six year old Anusuya Rawat was upset that her husband and three children were glued to the day-night match in Lahore.

The family discovered her body in the bathroom an hour after her death.

On Sunday evening, the Sector 24 police station received a call from D S Rawat, a communication engineer living in Sector 22, that his wife had committed suicide, while he and his children were watching the match.

Station officer Sanjay Sharma said: "Rawat said that he was watching the match with his children and his wife was upset because she wanted the children to study." His three children aged 11, 8 and 6 are students at Sommerville School.

When neither Rawat or the three children listened to her, Rawat said: "Anusuya went and lay in the bedroom for about half an hour, and we thought there had only been a minor argument. So, we did not bother to check. Then, she went to the second floor of the house. When she did not return for a long time, I asked my elder daughter to go and check on her."

She allegedly found the bathroom door closed and burning. There was a strong smell of kerosene oil.

Rawat said: "I broke the door and found Anusuya inside. I took her to hospital. But, she was already dead." Police said Rawat, also sustained burns while pulling out Anusuya."

Ajaagarkarajaa, mate you really have to speak or post with a bit more 'common sense'.

Even deep down you know that the Indian bowling lineup is mediocre at best. Young and promising, but currently very mediocre.

Its not good to continually annoy other members by bragging about how good India is.

If India were that good we would've won all 20 finals we have played in, in the last 4 years. We have only won about 5 out of 20 finals, we're a good young side, but we aren't what you make us out to be.

Please, one has to earn respect on these boards.

Did you ever stop and think why your posts aren't taken seriously?

Its because all the facts you have said have been very far away from the truth.

Mohammad Sami is inconsistent, but he is also a very promising young fast bowler, he is in very much the same age group and talent bracket as an Irfan Pathan or a Lakshmipathy Balaji.

Sami and Shabbir perform on the same level as Pathan and Balaji, yet you give Pathan and Balaji all this credit.

Why?

There is such a thing as sportsman spirit and respecting the opposition.

Many other Indian's here (Vishnu, Anil, Jono, Pratyush, Sudeep and myself) are just as patriotic as you, but we dont lose sight of reality and don't try and make Pro India dribble all the time.

Summing up mate,

To have respect on these boards, you have to let your words speak for you. Currently your words speak the language of 'ajaagarkaraja is an idiot'.

You have to try and convert that into

'ajaagarkaraja' makes some really valid points.

Im sure thats what you want in the long run,

Because thats what all CW members expect and want from you as well.

Cheers,

MB
