Indian bowling is competent, Pak bowling is all hyped.Indian bowlers don't give away 40-50 extrras in a match, India have quality pacers in Ajit,Nehra and promissing youngsters in Pathan and Balaji (even ur president has been full of praise of the latter)
Pak on other hand just rely on akhter.

Pak just dont rely on Akhtar but Sami basically won the 2nd odi with his yorkers and akhtar was getting hit.Sami also performed better then akhtar when pak beat NZ in pak

Is it just me or is this a tiny bit contradictory?

they were only 4 wickets down in the last 11 overs until moin khan came in and got out first ball.

had razzaq batted at 6 they could have definetly gone for the slog with younis khan playing anchor at the other end
Yes, but that's exactly what I said, with 4 or 5 down and 10 overs to go, it is too early to go all out attack.

With 2 or 3 down it's a different matter, hence they kept Razzaq back till he could have full licence to swing.

The whole world knows that Laxman is a class act, that Sehwag,Yuvraj and Kaif are wonderful batsmen.
Laxman possibly (on current form, but he needs to do it against teams other than Australia IMO)

Sehwag in OD's possibly.

The other 2 no.

Do you guys think if Nehra had just gotten one single and gave powar the strike and powar hit a four that over and took a single of the last bowl...would have India won?

perhaps... but that would be the same "IF" with over 40% ODI matches that go down the wire.

I think Pak fans would be more frustrated than Indian fans over Pak inability to win the first match since there WERE a few blunders by the 3rd umpire and batting order. I didn't see much wrong with the way Indian tail order batted in the last few overs.

Good to see you've given them credit. There were just 4 tailenders, though I'd consider Powar to be as good as the middle order, but could someone explain what's the point in picking 7 batsmen when 4 of them were outscored by tailenders and extras?

live in a fantasy world.....mate u r the mayor of the fantasy world.

if ganguly was not the captain he would struggle to make the team....when was the last time he performed....
the guy is living on past performances......
and the mortals that u term as gods are not gonna be enough to win u test matches and u will continue to be under pressure in the odi series.
as far as the bowling is concerned....u take a bunch of kids from the gallis of karachi and they might perform better than the indian bowling lineup.
and akhtar dint say that he had nightmares .....he said that he could not sleep waiting for the series to start.....so that he could take his revenge......and the man has 5 wickets for 98 runs so far in the series.......he has been the best bowler y far in the series along with sami......
the pakistani batting has clicked in both matches and runs have come from different quarters.
tendulkar got half ur teams runs.....and still u couldnt get to the target.
face it man.....just like sunil gavaskar said...as far as the indian team is concerned ....they are a bunch of chokers....lead by the cry baby "ganguly."

Should the Indians go in without Zaheer? Or even just 1 or 2 medium-pacers? Perhaps they should play 2 spinners, or even 3, playing Sehwag and Yuvraj as frontline spinners. Your opinion?

there was a report on one of the cricketing websites. they were discussing whether the indians should go in with 2 or maybe three soinners. the arguement that was put forward was that the playing area in the arbab niaz stadium is fairly small....with the biggest boundary being 65 yards. based on this i dont think that 3 spinners will be a good option as it will be easier to hit them out of the ground.
maybe the indians should try something different......opening the bowling with someone else and having zaheer bowl first change....like inzamam decided to pen with shabbir and have sami bowl first change....the trick worked and paid dividends for the pakistan team.

How about:

Sehwag
Tendulkar
Laxman
Dravid
Yuvraj
Ganguly
Kaif
Badani
+Patel
Powar
Pathan

The way I see it, whoever bowls has a 50-50 chance of getting utterly creamed into the centre of Lahore, so you might as well give yourself enough batsmen to try and do some creaming of the Pakistanis.

Cant make it on time.
I think Pakistan hasnt lost an ODI in Lahore since 1999...17 consective games.. Not sure about this info tho.

Playing 3 medium-pacers who are of no quality won't help at all. Look at all the seamers who have succeeded- just Sami and Akhtar. Pace counts here. All those who bowl at easy pace have been hammered. It does not matter how small the ground is, you can't play 3 seamers in these conditions, since they'll be hit out of the ground for six numerous times, given present form.

the indian bowling lineup has some serious flaws and is a cause for concern.....who should play as the main bowlers in the opinion of my fellow contributors to this forum.
