You say bat deep but pick Dube. :/Amazing batting effort from NZ there. Despite the wobbles, they controlled the game amazingly well once Kuldeep came in and they targetted him. I thought we left about 15 runs on the table there while batting as our batting in the last 10 was no great shakes. That, and some of our fielding have been the main worries. Bumrah wil be back soon and it was an off day with all those wides. My worry is Shami often just runs in and puts the ball somewhere with basically nothing behind it. He seemed to have gotten over it for the most part in tests but in ODIs I am still seeing it way too often for comfort. Given the next ODI is in Eden Park, I would actually go #batdeep and play this XI:
Mayank
Prithvi
Kohli (c)
Shreyas
Rahul (wk)
Jadhav
Dube
Jadeja
Shami
Saini
Bumrah
And bowl Jadhav for whatever overs necessary.
It seems it is a gigantic task to relegate Thakur to bench in the first place. The guy seems to play every single match these days Has tremendous cheer leading potential also.I'd much rather have Umesh on reserves than Thakur.

There's still light at the end of the tunnel then. Hope we put some memorable performances before the season is done.Latham's effort, where the hell did that come from? Serious striking and intent.
Worth remembering that we're operating with our 2nd string bowling line up. Boult Lockie Henry were the guys who got the job done in England.
Yeah, especially after a scratchy start where he was on 1 after about 11 balls. I was thinking they should have promoted Neesham. He really turned it on. Maybe being captain deepened his resolve to take the game by the scruff too.Latham's effort, where the hell did that come from? Serious striking and intent.
