Yeah Kohli will go big, I just wish everyone would stop trying to put a curse on the kind shy guy, I've even gone as far as to bet on him to top score and to score over 28 runs in the 1st inns to do my bit.

If Kohli could stay in long enough, maybe he would.

(Kohli a stick on to get a double at OT now I've said that).
Maybe. I am not so sure though given how he had his tail between the legs when he was getting smashed by Clarke and getting hit on the head by Johnson. Sledging is great if it's done properly like the Australians do. Sadly, a lot of cricketers get sucked into thinking it is just about making lame insults that would embarrass a 12 year old. Maybe Clarke or someone can teach him how it is done next year when we retain the Ashes

Can I ask all you English fans if Jimmy would have the gall to go and bad mouth Kohli or Clarke or Steyn. Picks on guys like Rahane who are still new to international cricket and that too after the bloody game is over for the day.
Nah. I'm no fan of Jimmy's behaviour, but I don't think he can be accused of only picking on the newbies. From what I can work out he's constantly having a go at just about everyone on the other team. Basically, though, he needs to STFU and stop being such a dick on the pitch.

And the Indian team/board would also, IMHO, be well advised to draw a line under this episode right now. They need to ask themselves: what would they gain from an appeal - given that even if successful Jimmy wouldn't be banned till after the series is over?

Ah yes, the highly sophisticated "proper" Aussie sledging. "You're not ****ing good enough! You're not ****ing good enough!" (c) Matthew Hayden

That basically implies you think they're only doing it to get Anderson banned; I really don't think they are. Reckon India should take it up after the series is over though, as all this only distracts the players from the task at hand. Saying that they should just drop it is a bit weird IMO. Surely no one wants to see a serious miscarriage of justice.

Haydos speaks nothing but the truth tbh.

Johnson owning Jimmeh with his rapier-wit sledging here:

BTW I thought we were moving on from this tedious argument, make a whiny thread for whiny people please:)

Don't really get how sledging a noob (say Rahane) is being more of a dick than sledging people like Steyn/Kohli etc.

Anyways, if Bhuvi is fit then it wouldn't be that bad an idea to actually leave Shami (who has been fairly horrendous) and play a pace atttack of Kumar, Singh and Pandey. Ashwin to replace Jadeja. Makes for a (potentially) stronger team than the one at Ageas.

According to Cricinfo, Pankaj to be replaced for Aaron and Ashwin in the team for Dhawan. Battle between Gambhi and Rohit for last spot, with Pujara possibly opening (and Rahane at 3 I guess?) if Rohit plays.

Terrible move to leave out Pankaj if they do.

But Aaron is poor. Ridiculous knee jerking from India. I wouldn't open with Pujara and Dhawan is still worth his place despite looking rank, especially once India return to Asia. Gambhir is a pretty good batsman to have in reserve though.

I remember people saying earlier in the thread we shouldn't expect Bhuvi to be a big contributor beyond the new ball and take lots of wickets like he has over the long term, and that his value to the side is his package as the bowling allrounder. Well I don't expect him to take 5fers all the time but unless India go in with five bowlers they need their four most likely guys to take lots of wickets. Atm Bhuvi is easily one of those four but if he becomes the player some posters said to expect then he might find himself deserving of a dropping.

I back Shami and Yadav (pick him in the squad ffs) to make the cut as test bowlers, Bhuvi is bowling well, Pankaj looks promising and even Ishant is having an extended purple patch. Never seen Pandey. Drop Jadeja for a real spinner and India have a bit to work with. I'd be tempted to do with Ashwin what should have been done with Vettori and bump him to six. India have arguably the most complete batting line up in the world in terms of no gaping holes - Ashwin at six with five bowlers in the team is an experiment they can afford. Having a h4x tail also looks good though so there are good arguments to put Ashwin at eight if he comes in with Bhuvi at nine.
