Nope.Prince EWS said:Gnaguly obviously fancies his chances of reducing his average.
He obviously doesnt always value his average, but in this case, I think he is.Deja moo said:Nope.
He is on because a seamer is effective under these conditions.
If he valued his average, he wouldnt have opened the bowling vs Australia with Zaheer as the only other quickie in the team.
why do you think so ?Prince EWS said:He obviously doesnt always value his average, but in this case, I think he is.

The seaming of the pitch was the reason for bowling Ganguly. Pathan and Zaheer had finished their first spells, and there was no third medium pacer in the team. Kumble and Harbhajan wouldnt have picked up many wickets on a pitch without much bounce, so the only option left was Ganguly (who isnt that bad a seamer as some make him out to be).Pathan and Zaheer werent bowling crap. it was just that they had simultaneously finished their spells.Prince EWS said:I would only bowl him if I was struggling to take wickets, but the pitch looked like it was seeming around (so, either Pathan or Khan bowling bowling crap, or really good batting).
I dont think Ashraful would like that intro..Nnanden said:just reading Ashraful`s (he looks in good touch at the mo) profile...
"Ashraful had started out as a specialist legspinner who could bat a bit, before maturing into an opener from the Shahid Afridi school of carefree strokeplay."
