I guess you were not watching the match. Also read the scorecard properly before commenting. Did you even watch how Sriram got out? the ball hit the keeper and was lying next to the stumps, sriram decided to go for a walk and ran HIMSELF out. Sriram made 57 from 91 but Kaif made 49 from 56.

Infinitely more better than no wins against class opposition, though.
sure...also "infinitely" better than 5 wins, 4 wins, 3 wins, 2 wins......

did you know that kenya who the icc has not found fit to be in the test arena has 12 wins in 66 odis? did you know that their record against bang in odis is 6 wins and 1 loss in 7 matches?

optimism is fine, even necessary but has to be tempered by a dose of realism and reality is so overwhelmingly against bangladesh....

So Srirams 57 off 114 was "bad and really slow", while Kaifs 49 off 105 was excellente'?

As for Srirams stumping/runout, the seeds of doubt had been sown the previous delivery. It was definitely an easier single than many of the others Kaif had run for.
are blaming kaif for messing with sriram's head ?? I did not see the match, but either way why drop kaif over sriram, maybe yuvraj if sriram makes some good match winning knocks.

And this one victory is Bangladeshs ticket for four more years survival on the test arena. How pathetic. If a success rate of 6 % in ODIs is good enough, lets get Holland, Namibia, Ireland, Scotland etc playing test cricket now.

It took New Zealand 26 years to win their first test...

A bit late to comment on selection of the side for the match but with exams looming, thats the way it goes.

Ganguly said prior to the start of the series that new players in the side would get to play all the three matches. Sehwag didnt play the first match, Tendulkar and Dravid didnt play the second and why couldnt Ganguly drop himself or Yuvraj for the 3rd?

Sriram and the other young players should have played. India lost to Bangladesh and Ganguly said that the newer players ALONE should not be blamed for the loss. WTF. The score card suggests the more experienced players have all teh blaming to take!

And leaving out the newer players gives a very bad signal that the reserves are just not good enough which I doubt is the case. If you never give a player adequate chances, you will never know.

And if you give players like AA chance after chance, that isnt superb either. Dont select new players if you dont havefaith in them. If you select them, atleast back them for some time.

Its sad the way some players have been treated in the past while some like Gavaskar, AA have got numerous chances. Compare it to the chances Bhandari or Salvi (who wasnt recalled after being replaced due to injury) or Badani (in his last come back) got.

I've never been much in favor of Bangladesh having test status - particularly given their domestic cricket shortcomings. As for one-day cricket, why not? It's a good tool to spread the game around the world, and I have no problem with Bangladesh being among it's international participants whatsoever (although I'm still in favor of some kind of tiered system, should more teams be included in the future).

But even if India wasn't at full-strength, I fail to see how anybody (except Indian supporters, for obvious reasons) wouldn't have been thrilled by Bangladesh's victory the other day. I unfortunately missed it, but I'd have loved to have been watching. I really don't see how it could possibly be a bad thing for cricket, as some obviously do. Constant thrashings - surely that's bad for cricket. Bangladesh certainly isn't the first team to have immense difficulties getting a win through their early years.

Congratulations India for coming back strongly in the last game...but India won the series at the price of hurting many Indians' sentiments...

I for one,(this might look like a little unpatriotic on my side) wanted India to lose atleast one match so that it might bring about some huge changes in captaincy, selections etc...but the fans' 'forget and forgive' attitude is holding us back and endorsing our so-called cricketing heroes to endorse more products...

My only favourites are Rahul Dravid,Ajay Jadeja (We support your return to the team)...

And Go Ajit...203 wickets and still going...against all odds...we will always support you...people who despise you are just jealous of your better achievements than their favourites, they are blind

Psychologically Bangladesh won the series...Congratulations

But it was a side with wholesale changes that lost, so how does that work?

if it wasn't a flash in the pan, i agree that there would be reasons to feel thrilled about it....but is there any evidence that it wasn't? i don't mind bangladesh playing odis(although as you said, a tiered system would be more appropriate for such teams), it is their test status that i have been against from the beginning...and this win will help them hang on to test status just that much longer.....

I think all three teams, in the three contests going on across the world, who were considered something og underdogs, performed much better than expected and this has to be great for the game.

Pakistan did a damn good job in while batting and then Shoaib made the initial breakthrough when Aussies played. South Africa bowled out England for a low score and then clawed back magnificiently to take a huge lead. Bagla Desh fought in the first match and won the next. GREAT ! All three teams thrilled their despondent supporters and injected life in the contests,

The fact that the favourites fought back/are fighting back strongly doesnt take away one bit from what they achieved.

Well done Pakistan, Bangla Desh and South Africa. :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

Well it wont work anyway...It would have worked to some extent if India had lost fielding their full strength team

My apologies. I had confused minutes for number of balls. And the previous delivery had a lot to do with Srirams eventual dismissal.

If it did which i very much doubt then h doesn;t deserve to be in the team.

He should play as a pro as the dismissal has nothing to do with Kaif.

Those are the games that had official ODI status, if you look up all the games they've played, including ICC Trophy then there isn't a lot between them
