australia will declare tomorrow at tea with a 200 run lead at this rate...not looking good!
If they bat at this rate till tea, it'll be much more than a 200 run lead!

where are the moderators now? conveniently ignoring that comment?
Firstly, only 4 minutes had elapsed between the post and you shouting for the moderators.

Secondly, at 8.30am, the English-based moderators are in bed.
In the middle of the day down under on a Saturday, it's quite possible that the Australian and New Zealand-based moderators are out enjoying the festive occasion?

Two bad decision's what was wrong with the other one granted he got a bad one in Brisbane but he certainly got bat on that second duck.
Maybe that was his point - the second bad decision was SRT's in playing at the ball?

Why exactly did he come in at 4 - I cannot fathom that one out!
Kumble was struggling with a right / left hand combination & the Indians were looking clearly jaded , they didnt want to be out there & thats just the sort of situation in which Gilchrist can come in & take the game away from you in an hour , unfortunately he played one of the worst shots of his carear & holed out :(

And the biggest irony of all is yours missed by just 1 run as well!

Good job you people can't predict where it matters!!!!
:O :O
Sh*t it did ,

Lets try again just to prove it wasnt a fluke

Australia will loose just 2 wickets tomorrow , Ricky Ponting will hole out to third man on the 6th ball of the morning.

Steve Waugh & Damien Martyn will then share a 372 run stand , which will be broken an over before stumps when Martyn is bowled by Akash Chopra for 201 , Waugh will then promptly declare leaving Australia 325 ahead with 2 days to play.
The Ice man himself will remain unbeaten on 190.

A spirited effort, even from Marc. Surely that's the highest percentage of one-man posts on a page.
I was just going through the thread methodically and replying as I saw fit!

Rahul Dravid speaks out, read on

Remember I said Ponting deserves to bethe best rated batsman, well vice captain Rahul Dravid thinks Ponting and Hayden are the best batsman in the world, :P

Hayden, Ponting acclaimed as world's best

December 27, 2003 16:13 IST

Australians Matthew Hayden and Ricky Ponting were acclaimed as the two best batsmen in the world by Rahul Dravid on Saturday.

Hayden scored 136, his fifth Test century of the year and his 17th in all, while vice-captain Ponting struck an unbeaten 120 on the second day of the third Test.

The pair added 234 for the second wicket as Australia reached 317 for three in reply to India's 366. India lead the four-Test series 1-0.

"Ponting and Hayden showed they are probably the top two batsmen in the world at the moment," Dravid told a news conference.

"They have really been consistent over the past two years. It wasn't the easiest wicket to play shots on."

Hayden said Australia had needed a big partnership at the start of their innings.

"We've well and truly done that now. We've got a really nice launching pad into tomorrow. With some good disciplined batting we can get a big lead," he said.

"We've got a lot of work to do before we win this game but we're back in it."

India were in firm control on Saturday morning when they resumed at 329 for four but the tourists were soon all out for 366, losing their last six wickets for 16 runs in 49 balls.

Australia then piled on the runs with Hayden clubbing 136 and Ricky Ponting scoring an unbeaten 120 as the pair put on 234 for the second wicket.

"It was a very satisfying day for us all round," added Ponting. "We made it go our way with the ball and we've batted really well."

India's left-arm paceman Zaheer Khan, who missed the second Test victory because of a hamstring strain, broke down again on Saturday, finishing with none for 75 from 17 overs.

"There is a slight worry at the moment, but he showed a lot of character to keep bowling," Dravid said.

"During the course of his fourth or fifth over he did feel a bit of a twinge. He knew he had to keep bowling and he did it."

Dravid said India's batting collapse was a combination of the touring side's poor shots and Australia's good bowling.

"I just think we didn't bat well. At 278 for one, we should have done much better," he said.

my point wasn't that the moderators took too long to respond. i was just pointing out how a comment like that will be allowed but rajat was banned for a week without using any such abusive language.

Can you stop making this a mental board, stop getting personal and all that. I'mean the Indians on this forum, I've bin visting this site and reading the posts since mid September and without you lot its a perfect forum. Who on earth cares what Rajat or some other loser has to say, ignore them simple as 1-2-3 scroll down, he replied to my posts earlier I ignored him, why can't you b'coz troublemakers like him are on every forum, this is one of the last good and genuine cricket forums around, the other forums have bin literally messed up by Indians and Pakistanis, my request to the otehrs is ignore them, when you reply to them thats what keeps them going, if I can I'm sure others can, lets leave the mods outta this, we're adults we're capable of handling these things ourselves.

PS. I've heard India is about to cancel the tour of Pakistan, and oh my god the other cricket sites there is big war going on between Indian and Pak fans, this is one of the only genuine crikcet forums left, lets keep it that way :cool2:

Right, stop stirring it, please, and stop raking over old embers in what looks to me to be a furtive attempt to start something we don't need.

Mr. bapu rao swami, r u really an indian. cant u see what the aussies or other people say. u can only see that only the indians are the one who r fighting all the time, or the pakistanis.

I think every one has the right to post his opinion on this site if its related to cricket.

What's the matter with you, can u see the faults only in the Indians, and none in other people

The kind of opinions(all of them against india) u post on this site really makes me wonder whether u r an indian.

Please, time out, guys.

I know that the mods are getting a little tired of the bitching which seems to have been going on ever since the start of the Australia v India series - and it's only a matter of time that this thread will be closed the way things are going.

Mr Rajat ,

I normally don't reply to fruitcakes like you (takes up my time), this is the last time I'm doing so. I'm more Indian than you'll ever be, I speak Hindi, Punjabi, Haryanvi can write perfect Sanskrit and 4 ppl of my family are renowned Sanskrit lecturers in Kolkatta!

Let me tell you what these Aussie fans are never at fault, I repeat never, I've read all their threads and they seem to be genuine cricket fans who enjoy exchanging their views, you on the other hand aren't, if I recall correctly you were the one saying the Indian team is better than whole of Oz apart from Hayden while the truth is the opposite and you know it well or else you wouldn't be making such baseless comments. There is one thing being a supporter of you country and another thing being a fool, your behaviour makes me feel ashamed, infact after seeing the Indian fans on this forum I have even contemplated using an English name, I have visited all cricket forums and everywhere its the same thing, Indians fans are causing trouble.

Secondly just b'coz I'm Indian doesn't necessarily mean I die for Tendulakr and co, I have always said that Lara, Hayden, Ponting, Vaughan, Yousuf Youhana are better players simply because they perform when there team needs them to perform!!whether you like me views or not - I don't bloody care. Also a few Indians have bin making fun of me b'coz I hail from Bihar well let me tell you them this, ever heard of Stanford Univ in Northern Cali, I have taught Sanskrit there for 2 terms, I have taught Sanskrit at the Univ of Manchester for a complete year!

PS. Excuse me moderators, I know this post is off-topic - will not happen again, I'll stick to cricket and only cricket from now onwards!

Ricky Ponting has far more support than a Brian Lara or a Michael Vaughan though. As such, I can't agree that he is the best. When you have Hayden, Gilchrist and Waugh all averaging over 50 to come in around you, the pressure is significantly less than when you have 30's as support.
...moreover, he doesn't have to face world's best bowling and fileding side. So, always(most of the time) pressure free and nobody will question him if he fails in 3-4 game.
Bappu Rao, how could u compare Lara with Ponting????..:O :O
