those stupid fuccking umpires :!(

umpiring has been total bull$hit in this series :!(
I wouldn't say that, Yes the umpiring has been below par but seriously there has only been 2 Really bad decisions...

1/ Tendulkars LBW
2/ Chopra's given N/O when caught at short leg...

The others have been calls which could've gone either way so umpires can't be blamed for that....

Anyway the series has only just started, i mean we haven't even had 200 overs... so stop whinging...

amits whats up with you? Don't get so damn emotional, its just a game in the end.

And IMO, Parthiv Patel is much better than Ratra. Ratra sucks. He always gets out in single digits.

Patel is doing a good job, what would you rather he got out and exposed the tail???

i mean look whats left....

Agarkar - Bunny
Singh - Bunny
Khan - Ferret
Nehra - Ferret

I know what i'd prefer...

To demand thusly of a man who just made 144 against the best team in the country, I find rather unfair.

By the way, it's Kode, amit.

Ganguly played a magnificent innings today and it was at a good clip so I don't get how you can complain about it.

:O Ratra a better bat than Patel :O . Ratra apart from that 100 , didn't even cross 10 in all his other innings

Great batting by Ganguly, Laxman , Patel, Chopra and Sehwag:D . Great to see Ganguly making runs and shut up all those critics :cool2: .

Great innings by Ganguly.

That was the best innings I had seen him play and one of the best 100s I have seen him play.

It seems to me you are very intent on blaming the bad decision from Bucknor on Tendulkar. Maybe, just maybe, he thrust his pad out because he knew that the ball was going to miss the stumps and didn't want the bat to get in the way of the ball going to the wicket keeper (in fear of edging it?) It was only the third ball of Sachin's innings; I don't blame him if he wants to take more than mere two balls to settle in before playing his shots.

I would suggest you give your head a good shake if it seems to you that one of the best batsmen of current age has a head made out of wood.

If you want to take shots at Sachin, there are far better reasons and opportunities to do so than a time when he's victimized by a poor umpiring decision.
If he had of used his bat, there would have been no problem.

Not necessarily...there was every chance that if he had played it he would have edged it to slips...it was a good ball & had him in 2 minds, so either way he would have been very unsure.

In the end, I think he made the right decision to leave, it was just unfortunate that it looked close enough to be given by Bucknor.

already scared of india

ur points 1 and 3 tell the story and point 2 is just wishful thinking.

nobody out here except me had expected india to take a 1st innings lead and here we r, with that 1st innings lead.

u want ganguly to declare at 323

i say that india should bat till 15 overs into tommorow and give aus 90 overs to bat. (day 4 and 5 r 105 over days)

by that time, india should try and hit 523. india would have played 126 overs by then and at 4 an over, it is 504. no prob in playing 1-2 more overs to get 523 and take a 200 run lead, before ind knocks the aussies out cheaply and wins the match by an innings or 8-10 wickets.

You can be very thankfull there has been alot of rain this week, because if their wasn't India would be in a much worse position. After the way India bowled on Day 1 they don't deserve a first innings lead, you can be thankfull the pitch wasn't left to dry on day two because what we saw today could have very well been Langer and Martyn. India would of had 500+ put on them and it would have been a very different proposition.

But...in saying that all credit to India, they have come back after a very dissapointing day 1 and have absolutely given it to Australia. It was great to be at the ground and see the most fluent of batsman ever in VVS Laxman absolutely smash the attack. And Ganguly's innings was full of grit and determination, he showed his full class today.

And for all the Bichel baggers, yes he bowled badly, very badly, but Bracken bowled just as bad, but Steve Waugh saved him from embarrasement by not bowling him during the Ganguly-Laxman onslaught. MacGill bowled very well, and Gillespie (does anything need to be said - spectacular) And Katich - the sooner the selectors realise this guy can't bowl the better, out of 12 delieveries 10 of them were half-trackers.

Well it appears as though Australia will use Katich as the second spinner at Adelaide to keep the balance of the side, so you probably won't get your wish quite just yet

True, I was referring to the fact (unless he got a slight inside edge) if he used his bat he gets rid of at least one dismissal. I must say I was sitting directly behind Steve Bucknor at the Stanley Street end, and my initial thought was - oh no - he's gone. I only had the advantage of one replay, and again it looked out. But I'm sure Heals and the rest of the commentary team gave it a full working over with Hawk-eye and it probably wasn't out, but Bucknor only gets one look at it.

Tim

Cricketer Of The Year
Yup, on first glance I also thought it was extremely close but hawk-eye suggested it was going well over the stumps.

Gillespie was bowling extremely well at that stage, to say that Tendulkar was stupid for not using his bat is a little off the mark....in the end I think Gillespie was just too good for Tendulkar on that occassion.

amit i'm with u

hi friends,
here's a new voice from india.Triggered by the messages from u all, i joined this group and want to respond strongly on the under-estimation of the Indian team. We can do better than any team, against aus.Today's is a simple example when we r on song nobody can stop us."351" runs in a day agaist the boasted attack of WCaus.
The dismissal of Sachin was so shocking to me:O.See how he responded.(can't imagine an aus star batsman goes out in such a way, without staring at the umpire, barring Gilchrist).
common amit,i'm with u.

From your name, I can see where you are coming from, and therefore understand your totally unbiased response to my throwaway remark.

I wasn't taking much of a shot at Tendulkar at all (a bit) - I would blame any batsman for making the same decision - I have done in the past and will continue to do so in the future.

I even said that it was a bad decision at the time - but it was a bad decision by Tendulkar as well. Leaving a ball on length is asking for trouble.

People vilify umpires for making a mistake - and there are people on here calling for the sacking of Steve Bucknor for an error of judgment. That would be criminal.

Yes, it was an error of judgment. Yes, it was a bad decision - Bucknor will make many others in his career - but not as many as Koertzen, Hair, Harper, Shepherd, Asoka, Bowden (maybe even Taufel) etc etc because he is in the highest echelon of officials.
